Background / History
Tang San founded the Tang Sect and tied its survival to his source of faith. To keep the sect from declining, he repeatedly linked its destiny to each era’s Child of the Plane, intending for such figures to restore the sect under his guidance. 11
His Ten Thousand Year Plan centers on replacing Douluo Continent’s Plane Consciousness and Life Core with his parents, Tang Hao and A Yin. The plan requires the destiny of Huo Yuhao and Wang Qiu’er, allowing the Tang family to retain control over future Children of the Plane. 16
When Tang San discovers that Huo Yuhao’s connection to the Tang Sect has been severed and that Lan Xuanyu has emerged as a second Child of the Plane, he identifies Lan Xuanyu as an artificial creation of the remaining plane consciousness. He resolves to retaliate and plans to use his daughter Xiao Qi to bind both Children of the Plane to the Tang family. 11
Appearance
Tang San is a tall, broad-shouldered man with long, center-parted blue hair reaching the ground. He wears an ornate blue robe and is usually depicted carrying his golden trident. 11
- His initial bearing is described as icy, pure, and jade-like. 11
- When displaying Sea God power, he projects a compassionate and saintly demeanor. 11
- His Asura God power manifests as blood-red killing intent and a corpse-strewn, blood-sea-like aura. 67 223
- After his Divine Soul is divided, the Sea God-aligned half becomes Tang Shan, while the Asura-aligned half remains male. 323
Personality
Tang San carefully maintains the image of a modest, refined, and benevolent God King. He presents his schemes as sacrifices made for the stability of Douluo Continent and the prosperity of the God Realm. 11 58
Behind that public persona, he is intensely controlling and unwilling to tolerate events outside his plans. He treats the Tang Sect, Plane Consciousness, Power of Faith, and even his relatives as pieces in a long-term strategy. 11 16 199
His confidence becomes increasingly volatile after his political setbacks. Absorbing Power of Faith born from slaughter worsens the Asura God’s influence on his temperament, culminating in him striking Xiao Wu when she asks about Xiao Qi. 259
Abilities & Skills
Dual Divine Positions
Tang San possesses the divine positions of both the Sea God and Asura God, making him a dual-godhead God King and God Realm Enforcer. 11
- The Sea God position is his more compatible divine inheritance and grants him ocean-based divine power. 185
- The Asura God position supplies destructive killing intent and the Asura Demon Sword. 185
- Holding both positions places severe strain on his Divine Soul, particularly because of his poor compatibility with the Asura inheritance. 322
- He cannot defeat the God of Destruction in a one-on-one battle despite possessing two divine positions. 185 313
Sea God Divine Arts
Tang San uses Sea God power for control, offense, domains, and the absorption of oceanic energy. 67 185
- Boundless Sea Ripples — Golden spatial rings that bind targets; regarded as a premier God Realm control technique. 67 320
- Eons of Time — An offensive Sea God skill used through blood-red trident shadows. 67 314
- Sun of the Sea — A Sea God divine skill used during his clash with Baili Du. 67
- Sea God Domain — Enhances his divine power when combined with the Asura Domain. 320
- He draws energy from the ocean through the God Realm Hub to strengthen both the Sea God position and Sea God Trident. 185
- Destruction of his Sea God Trident avatar cuts off his ability to absorb the ocean’s power. 198 259
Asura God Power
Tang San can exchange Sea God power for the Asura God’s blood-red killing aura and combat techniques. 67
- Asura Blood Sword — A sword manifestation employed against the God of Destruction. 320
- Asura Domain — Can be combined with the Sea God Domain to amplify him. 320
- The Asura inheritance’s violent killing intent progressively affects his judgment and behavior. 185 259
- He attempts to strengthen this position by absorbing Power of Faith produced through slaughter. 229 259
Martial Souls
Tang San’s Twin Martial Souls are the foundation of his two divine inheritances. 322
- Blue Silver Emperor — His Sea God-aligned martial soul; it can produce and control powerful Blue Silver Emperor vines. 174 322
- Clear Sky Hammer — His Asura God-aligned martial soul. 322
- His Divine Soul later separates along these martial-soul lines into Clear Sky Hammer Tang San and Blue Silver Emperor Tang Shan. 323
Purple Demon Eye
Tang San uses the Purple Demon Eye to observe fate and identify abnormalities in the Children of the Plane. 11
- It allows him to compare the integrated fate within Huo Yuhao to Lan Xuanyu’s incomplete, artificial-looking fate. 11
Equipment / Divine Artifacts
- Sea God Trident — Golden super divine artifact and Tang San’s primary Sea God weapon; it is strengthened with oceanic energy. 11 185
- Asura Demon Sword — Super divine artifact associated with his Asura God position. 185 322
- Eight Spider Lances / Sea God’s Eight Wings — Pseudo-super divine artifact retained during his attempted escape from the God Realm. 322
- God Realm Hub — Authority and administrative tool shared among the five God Kings; Tang San uses it to monitor Douluo Continent and make arrangements for his plan. 185
- Sea God Trident avatar — A deep-sea projection destroyed by Huo Yuhao and Electrolux. 198
Relationships
- Xiao Wu — Wife. She initially remains unaware of his hidden conduct, but their relationship fractures after he strikes her during an argument over Xiao Qi. 58 259
- Xiao Qi — Daughter. Tang San sends her to the lower realm as part of his plan for the Children of the Plane; her divided soul becomes a central source of conflict. 11 186 223
- Tang Wutong — Daughter and heir to the Butterfly Goddess position; her mixed divine bloodlines are considered unstable compared with Tang Wulin’s. 184
- Tang Hao — Father. Tang San intends for him to replace the Douluo Plane Consciousness. 16
- A Yin — Mother. She is meant to seize the Life Core and spends ten thousand years consuming life energy within Shrek Academy’s Golden Tree. 16
- Lan Xuanyu — Grandson and an artificial Child of the Plane whom Tang San initially identifies as an enemy of his plan. 11 192

- Goddess of Life — Opponent in the God Realm conflict; she challenges Tang San over Xiao Qi’s divided soul and later joins the pursuit against him. 185 320
