Stage / Realm / Level Chapter Notes
Acquisition of a 100,000-year spirit ring and spirit bone 11 According to the Will of Douluo Planet, A-Yin sacrificed herself when Qian Xunji and two other Titled Douluo cornered them. Her sacrifice granted Tang Hao the ring and bone.
Rank-95 Titled Douluo 2 Established as his current strength, despite his withdrawn, heavy-drinking lifestyle. No subsequent level increase is documented.

Background / History

Tang Hao was once a feared powerhouse, remembered for hammering a Pope of Spirit Hall to death. By the opening events, he lives as a down-and-out blacksmith in Holy Soul Village, drinking heavily while his young son handles cooking, firewood, and household chores 9.

The Will of Douluo Planet recounts that Tang Hao knew A-Yin was a transformed 100,000-year soul beast but continued travelling through human settlements with her during her pregnancy, including Spirit City. After Qian Xunji and two other Titled Douluo caught them, A-Yin sacrificed herself to save Tang Hao and their unborn son 11.

Tang Hao subsequently hid A-Yin’s reincarnated Blue Silver Grass seedling and her 100,000-year right leg bone in a secluded valley reached through a cave behind a waterfall near Holy Soul Village. The bone was sealed inside a stone box; the seedling remained in a dark, damp environment unsuitable for healthy plant growth 10 11 14.

Appearance

  • Face: Covered in stubble 9 20.
  • Hair: Dishevelled and compared to a bird’s nest 9.
  • Clothing: Unwashed for at least half a month when introduced, smelling of stale alcohol and sweat 9.
  • During his rage: Bloodshot eyes accompany the release of his nine spirit rings and Titled Douluo pressure 19.

Personality

Tang Hao is habitually cold and harsh toward Tang San. He dismisses his son’s offer to make ginger soup, demands that chores be completed, and angrily rejects a request to drink less. Brief flashes of tenderness suggest affection beneath this behaviour, but he rarely expresses it openly 9.

His temper can override his judgment. Finding Tang San injured, mechanically slapping himself, and insulting “Clear Sky,” he strikes the boy before recognising that someone has drugged and manipulated him. Once Tang San spits blood and collapses, Tang Hao’s concern becomes unmistakable 18 19.

His feelings for A-Yin are portrayed as sincere but possessive. Her disappearance leaves him crying and enraged; the Goddess of Life nevertheless criticises his supposed protection as imprisonment, arguing that he values his own idea of safeguarding her over her actual needs 19.

Tang Hao’s hatred of Spirit Hall strongly shapes his suspicions. The chat group predicts that he will blame it for the stolen bone, and he does exactly that after discovering both the bone and A-Yin missing 12 19.

  • Spirit Hall — Object of his longstanding hatred. He holds it responsible for A-Yin’s sacrifice and mistakenly blames it for the later attack on Tang San and disappearance of his hidden possessions 11 19.
  • Will of Douluo Planet — Opposes the future scheme to have Tang Hao possess it and replace it as the plane’s master. It supplies Xiao Chenyu with a mark specifically designed to neutralise Tang Hao’s interference 1 2 7.

  • Xiao Chenyu subsequently removes A-Yin’s seedling from the cave and takes her away 14.

Tang San’s Humiliation and Misplaced Revenge

  • Tang Hao searches for Tang San after finding breakfast unprepared and his son overdue from training. He discovers him slapping himself while shouting “Clear Sky is a dog” 18.

  • Unaware of the rebirth, he questions Tang San about the attack and accepts his claim that he remembers nothing. Before leaving, he tells him to rest and apply medicine to his face 20.
