Background / History
Tang Yuehua left the Clear Sky Sect to prove herself. In Spirit City, she founded Yue Pavilion as a school for reforming wealthy, unruly playboys through manners and self-cultivation. Its success gave her a strong reputation among local families and helped reduce conflict in the spirit-master-heavy city. 7 8
Lu Mingchuan became Yue Pavilion’s most difficult remaining student. He was ordered to attend two-hour daily lessons, apparently through an arrangement connected to Spirit Hall’s Great Elder. Tang Yuehua initially saw him as a frustrating but potentially redeemable student. 7 8 13
Before meeting Lu directly at Yue Pavilion, Tang Yuehua began hearing his inner thoughts. Realizing the voice belonged to him made her curious about his knowledge, his strange predictions, and his unflattering assessments of her. 7 8
Appearance
Tang Yuehua is noted for an elegant, dignified presence and an unusually striking figure. Her Yuehua Domain further enhances the impression she makes on observers. 8 9
- Youthful face with skin described as naturally full and soft. 8
- Slender, shapely build with prominent curves. 8 9
- Fair legs and an “extraordinary temperament.” 9 25
- Has worn a warm fur coat and, on another occasion, a purple-hued gown. 15 16
Personality
Tang Yuehua usually presents herself as graceful, composed, and professional. She values both intelligence and strength, and her early admiration for Bibi Dong lessens once she concludes that raw talent without judgment is undesirable. 7
Behind that reserved image, she is playful with her female friends and readily trades teasing remarks with Lu Mingchuan. She is also sensitive to his repeated comments about her age, weight, and alleged feelings for Tang Hao, though she often tries to suppress her anger rather than openly lose composure. 8 10 14
She is observant and pragmatic. After hearing Lu’s thoughts about Spirit City’s power dynamics, she reconsiders purchasing property there and begins looking for ways to change her future through influence, commerce, and her connection with Bibi Dong. 15 16 26
Abilities & Skills
Yuehua Domain
Tang Yuehua possesses the Yuehua Domain, a non-combat ability centered on calming and refinement.
- Reduces hostility and conflict, contributing to stability in Spirit City. 8
- Enhances Tang Yuehua’s appearance and presence in the eyes of others. 9
- Can calm the minds of nearby people; she uses it after Cuihua takes Yu Xiaogang away. 18
- Helps Bibi Dong cultivate by purifying negative influences associated with Bibi Dong’s martial soul. 21
- Bibi Dong asks her to maintain the Domain for an entire day, a demand Tang Yuehua considers excessive. 20
Tang Yuehua states that she has innate soul power at level nine, but she is also described as having no spirit rings and refers to herself as an ordinary person lacking personal strength. 15 26
Etiquette Instruction
Tang Yuehua specializes in teaching etiquette, meditation, self-cultivation, and behavioral reform.
- Founded Yue Pavilion specifically to educate playboys who might otherwise cause trouble. 7
- Personally instructs Lu Mingchuan through lessons that can include “baptism,” scripture reading, and character cultivation. 8 9
- Is later asked by the Pope to teach etiquette to Bibi Dong after Lu’s apparent improvement draws notice. 16
Inner-Thought Perception
Tang Yuehua can hear Lu Mingchuan’s inner voice, a phenomenon she first notices while bathing. 7
- Uses his thoughts to uncover his judgments, predictions, and knowledge of future events. 7 13
- Learns of spirit evolution and the potential value of establishing a Yuehua Chamber of Commerce through his internal monologue. 13
- Reacts to his claims about her relationship with Tang Hao and adjusts her behavior to challenge his assumptions. 14 15
Social Networking and Business Acumen
Tang Yuehua has built close ties with noblewomen in Spirit City and uses Yue Pavilion as both a school and a social foothold. 7 8
- Her tea-party acquaintances are protective of her and participate in open, playful camaraderie. 8
- Considers expanding Yue Pavilion into a chamber of commerce and pursuing the commoner market. 13 14
- Begins seeking greater freedom to move within Spirit City under Bibi Dong’s backing. 26
Relationships
- Lu Mingchuan — Her student and frequent source of frustration. Tang Yuehua hears his thoughts, accompanies him to the South Market, and gradually shifts from formal teacher to a teasing, sibling-like dynamic with him. 9 10 15 16
- Bibi Dong — Initially a rival in appearance and influence, then a reluctant collaborator. Tang Yuehua teaches Bibi Dong etiquette and provides the Domain Bibi Dong values during cultivation. 16 19 21
- Tang Hao — Her brother. Lu Mingchuan’s insinuations that she has romantic feelings for him deeply anger her, and she rejects the implication. 14
- Yu Xiaogang — An object of her contempt after he internally insults her and behaves disrespectfully toward Bibi Dong. Tang Yuehua kicks him in retaliation. 14 22
- Spirit City noblewomen — Her close social circle. They support her, tease her about romance and appearance, and helped form the connections surrounding Yue Pavilion. 7 8
