Background / History
The sect was founded by an ancestor of the Ning family and their spouse. Because the Ning direct line all inherit the auxiliary Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda, the sect’s ancestral rule requires Ning descendants to marry powerful combat-type Soul Masters, ensuring that the sect has protectors capable of fighting alongside its support Soul Masters 74.
The Ning family’s pagoda Martial Soul possesses exceptional amplification abilities but has an innate cultivation ceiling: its inheritors cannot advance past Level 79 Soul Sage. The sect offsets this limitation through combat-oriented spouses, affiliated Soul Masters, wealth, and coordinated amplification 74 363 444.
Former Sect Master Ning Caicheng, a Level 79 Soul Sage, and his two Soul Douluo wives established the sect’s Upper Three Sect standing. With Ning Caicheng’s support, his wives could temporarily wield Titled Douluo-level combat power and once held their ground against the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan’s Level 95 former sect master 414.
Under Ning Mofan, the sect retained its position despite lacking an actual Titled Douluo. Ning Mofan, also a Level 79 Soul Sage, had three combat-Soul-Sage wives; two later reached the Soul Douluo realm. The secluded Ning Caicheng and his wives remained vital to the sect’s continued status 74 414.
After Lingyun City’s rise exposed the limits of the sect’s position, Ning Mofan regretted neither recruiting Ling Yi nor suppressing the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce early. He subsequently relinquished the sect mastership to his eldest son, Ning Fengzhi, in order to focus on cultivation 439.
Organization
Ning Direct Line
The sect’s direct lineage belongs to the Ning family and inherits the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda, recognized as the continent’s foremost support-system Martial Soul 74 482.
- Direct-line members are auxiliary Soul Masters.
- Their Martial Soul grants powerful amplification and exceptional treasure appraisal ability 74 364.
- Their cultivation is normally capped at Level 79, preventing them from becoming Soul Douluo 363 444.
- The Ning clan searched for the legendary Qiluo Tulip, believing it could evolve the flawed pagoda into the Nine Treasure Exquisite Pagoda and remove this limitation 494.
Combat Support
The sect’s military strength is built around spouses and external combat Soul Masters rather than its direct lineage.
- Ning Mofan’s three wives included one Power Attack System Battle Soul Sage and two Control System Battle Soul Sages; together with his support, they could contend with a peak Soul Douluo and defeat ordinary Soul Douluo 74.
- The sect had more than 3,000 Soul Masters before reaching its later peak, including substantial mid- and low-level combat forces 484.
- At a later point, Sword Douluo Chen Xin and Bone Douluo Gu Rong served as the sect’s Guardian Douluo, with at least one normally remaining at Sect Master Ning Fengzhi’s side 634 730.
Abilities & Resources
Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda Amplification
The sect’s defining strength is the amplification provided by the Ning family’s inherited pagoda Martial Soul.
- Can substantially enhance combat Soul Masters, allowing auxiliary users to multiply the effectiveness of stronger allies 74.
- Ning Caicheng’s support once enabled two Soul Douluo wives to briefly achieve Titled Douluo-level combat power 414.
- The Martial Soul is publicly identifiable enough that displaying it immediately signals the sect’s identity 275.
- Its known applications include enhancements to strength, speed, and Soul Power 690.
Treasure Appraisal and Commerce
The Ning family’s Martial Soul grants an unmatched advantage in identifying and assessing treasures, supporting the sect’s vast wealth and access to rare materials 200 364.
- Regarded as one of the continent’s wealthiest powers, rich enough to rival a nation 200 475.
- Possesses extensive rare-ore resources, rivaled in this respect only by a few major powers 364.
- Funded 30,000 sets of refined-iron Bright Light Armor and horse armor for the Heaven Dou Royal Knights, using its own iron mines and affiliated smiths 475.

Relationships
- Heaven Dou Empire — Long-standing friendly relationship. Ning Fengzhi sought closer ties by offering to become Elder Princess Xue Qianxun’s teacher and financially backing the Royal Knights’ expansion 458 475.
- Clear Sky Sect — Fellow Upper Three Sect. Their differing Martial Soul types and strategic roles make direct conflict unlikely from Ning Mofan’s perspective 439.
- Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan — Fellow Upper Three Sect and historical rival in prestige; Ning Caicheng’s wives once resisted the clan’s Level 95 former sect master with pagoda amplification 414.
- Lingyun City / Greenwood Chamber of Commerce — A major commercial and strategic rival. Lingyun City’s wealth and Titled Douluo-level backing threatened the sect’s Upper Three Sect position 439 475.
- Martial Soul Hall — A dominant external power whose strength is balanced by the Clear Sky Sect; the sect operates within this wider balance of mutual restraint 439.
Story Role / Major Arcs
Lingyun City Incident
The sect dispatched a force toward Lingyun City, but its contingent arrived after the other factions had already begun fighting. Led by the Soul Emperor Ice Meow, the group observed the battle from concealment and fled after nightfall rather than intervene 439.
Ice Meow reported the incident to Ning Fengzhi and Ning Mofan, admitting his cowardice and accepting punishment. The report convinced Ning Mofan that Ling Yi’s growing power had become a serious strategic threat 439.
Ning Fengzhi’s Succession
Following the Lingyun City incident, Ning Mofan brought Ning Fengzhi to the secluded residence of Ning Caicheng and his wives. News then spread that Ning Mofan had stepped down and Ning Fengzhi had succeeded him as sect master 439.
Heaven Dou Alignment
Ning Fengzhi moved to strengthen the sect’s relationship with Emperor Xue Ye. The sect provided major funding for the expansion and equipment of the Heaven Dou Royal Knights, while Ning Fengzhi offered to teach Xue Qianxun 458 475.
Trivia
- The sect headquarters lies in the mountains a little over one hundred li from Heaven Dou City 439.
- In the era before Chen Xin and Gu Rong became its pillars, the sect’s Upper Three Sect status depended on Titled Douluo-level combat power created through support rather than on a resident Titled Douluo 414 484.
- The sect’s political and commercial model has led Ling Yi to regard Lingyun City as a “budget version” counterpart to it 429.
