Background

Jiang Chen grows up without a family; Old Jack nevertheless treats him as his own grandson. His martial-soul awakening causes enough terror in Holy Soul Village that most villagers refuse to approach the house afterward. 12 170

At age six, he is targeted by an assassin near the village river. Jiang Chen survives the attempt, infects the attacker with corpse poison, receives the youth's memories, and waits for him to become an intelligent zombie under his control. 32 35

His blood-drinking and corpse-related abilities initially make Tang San fear him.
