Background / History

Chen Xin served as one of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect's two guardian Douluos alongside Gu Rong. He accompanied Sect Master Ning Fengzhi and Gu Rong when they intercepted Lu Chen, Dugu Bo, and Dugu Yan in the forest, intending to deal with Lu Chen's growing threat. 36 37

During the ensuing battle, Chen Xin fought Dugu Bo in the sky while Ning Fengzhi amplified him. Despite using his Seven Kill Domain, Martial Soul Avatar, and powerful sword techniques, he was defeated when Dugu Bo—enhanced by Lu Chen's support—immobilized him with Time Solidification and struck him with a devastating tail sweep. 37 38 39

Gu Rong evacuated Chen Xin through a Gate of Space. Chen Xin survived with broken bones, catastrophic internal injuries, and a collapsed sternum, but his defeat severely damaged his confidence and sword heart. The sect's healers restored his condition enough to survive, though he could initially use only half of his combat strength. 39 40

When Lu Chen later attacked the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect to settle the earlier ambush, Chen Xin joined Ning Fengzhi and Gu Rong in confronting him. Lu Chen's spatial abilities rendered Chen Xin's attacks ineffective before the Black Iron Sickle severed Chen Xin's right arm. 90 91 92

After Lu Chen killed Ning Fengzhi and Gu Rong, Chen Xin continued alone out of loyalty and vengeance. He exhausted his remaining Soul Power in a final attack, but Lu Chen survived through Substitute Blue Silver Emperor and killed Chen Xin in return. 92 93 94

Appearance

Chen Xin was an elderly yet imposing man with a cold expression, sharp eyes, and white hair hanging behind his head. His posture was described as upright as a drawn sword, and traces of his youthful handsomeness remained despite his age. 36

Personality

Chen Xin was proud of his status as Sword Douluo and of the Seven Kill Sword's offensive power. His loss to Dugu Bo left him deeply shaken because Dugu Bo had long been regarded as the weakest of the Title Douluos. 39 40

He was fiercely loyal to Ning Fengzhi and Gu Rong. Even after losing an arm, he refused Gu Rong's offer to replace him in battle, insisting that Gu Rong remain with Ning Fengzhi while he tested the limits of Lu Chen's spatial ability. 91

Following Ning Fengzhi and Gu Rong's deaths, Chen Xin abandoned any concern for survival and fought Lu Chen solely to avenge them. 93 94
