"They say she came from a kingdom with beautiful amber and dense forests, but it seemed to be in the midst of war at the time. The two fell into a forbidden love, and the child they had was Rebecca."
"Tragically, the prince died in the war, leaving behind Princess Scarlet and Rebecca—Princess Rebecca, who then lived quietly within the country."
"So that's it. The princess's bloodline is noble and flawless."
As Kanjuro and Kin'emon walked down the street and listened to this, they were both astonished. Kin'emon said, "What a strange rumor. You are Rebecca's father, aren't you?"
Kanjuro said, "Do you want to eat lettuce?"
"No!" Besides, the two of them were currently flying through the sky atop that clumsy big-headed bird.
Beneath the blue sky, near the vast Sunflower Field, someone sang, "Soldier will always bravely stay by your side."
Cyrus sat quietly before Scarlet's grave, recalling the time he had spent with Rebecca when she was little. This was his decision. He did not want Rebecca to have a father with an identity like his. Beside him was a drawing Rebecca had made as a child of Toy Soldier. He touched the picture, and his eyes suddenly opened, firm and resolute.
Meanwhile, Kanjuro and Kin'emon sat amid a stretch of ruins, fanning the big-headed bird hard with a fan. The entire bird lay sprawled on the ground, looking as though it were about to melt. Suddenly, they heard someone shout, "Great!"
Then they saw people distributing something over at the Marine camp.
"Oh, those are Lord Mansherry's flower remedies."
"They're good stuff. They've been quite useful today, too."
The Marines were handing out yellow dandelions. A crowd stood in line, receiving them in an orderly fashion. They said everyone should line up and take one each.
