Kiba attended the Ninja Academy alongside Minato Namikaze, Uchiha Matsuri, Kushina Uzumaki, and Chōji Dōtō. He initially joined Chōji in mocking Kushina's red hair, but apologized after Minato intervened. During introductions, Kiba proudly declared his ambition to become Hokage and protect everyone with his own strength. 2

After graduating, Kiba was assigned to Team 5 under Jiraiya alongside Minato and Chōji. 8 Following the dissolution of Team 6, Uchiha Matsuri was transferred into Team 5. Kiba openly opposed the transfer, already viewing Matsuri as arrogant and resenting Kushina's interest in him. 27

In Iwagakure, Kiba attacked a noodle-shop owner after witnessing an elderly woman being mistreated. His actions destroyed the shop and triggered a confrontation with Kitsuchi and Iwagakure forces. Kiba acknowledged that he had endangered the team, fought Kitsuchi with Ono, and later accepted responsibility for the incident before the Third Hokage. 41 42 46

When Kushina was kidnapped during an enemy incursion into Konoha, Kiba identified her scent at the attacked residence and detected the kidnappers' trail heading northeast. 48

Personality

Kiba is emotional, outspoken, and prone to acting before considering the consequences. He reacts strongly to perceived injustice, as shown by his assault on the noodle shop in Iwagakure, but this same impulsiveness repeatedly brings danger to his teammates. 41

He is highly competitive and initially overconfident, especially around Matsuri.
