Background / History

Matsuri was originally a 17-year-old high-school student from another world. Following his death, he transmigrated into the body of a newborn of Konoha’s Uchiha clan. His psychological age exceeded twenty even while he was physically a child. 1

His biological parents were powerful Uchiha Jonin. They died protecting him when his pregnant mother was ambushed while deployed as a frontline medical ninja during the Second Shinobi World War. Konoha reinforcements recovered Matsuri alive, and the Third Hokage initially placed him under Uchiha Kagami’s care. 1

Kagami died in the war when Matsuri was four, leaving him orphaned again. Jiraiya subsequently adopted him at the Third Hokage’s arrangement, though Jiraiya’s frequent missions meant Matsuri largely learned to care for himself. 1

At six, Matsuri entered the reopened Ninja Academy—the first Uchiha known to enroll there rather than receive internal clan education. Sabaku Clan Conflict

Matsuri fought alongside Team 6 against the Sabaku clan in Scarlet Valley. Kato Dan created an opening for the team’s escape, and Matsuri refused to leave Shin behind. He activated his Sharingan against Rasa, but Shin was killed saving him; the loss evolved Matsuri’s eyes to two tomoe. 20 21 23 24
