Background / History

Konoha was founded after the Warring States period by Senju Hashirama and Uchiha Madara, who used their strength to end constant clan conflict and establish a more peaceful village order. Lihuo describes the village as a place where people show care and concern despite lingering instability. 23

The village is led by the Hokage and includes influential clans, advisers, elite jōnin, Anbu, Root, the intelligence division, and the sealing corps. Its major clans include the Uchiha, Hatake, Nara, Yamanaka, Aburame, Inuzuka, and Hyūga. 62

Konoha is regarded as the strongest hidden village in the shinobi world, with superior numbers and high-level combatants compared with Iwagakure. Its territory and resources are coveted by rival villages. 61 101 110

Hokage Administration

Rising Tensions and Counterattack

Following attacks on Orochimaru and Lihuo during their diplomatic journey, Konoha is thrown into internal suspicion. Ōnoki deliberately exploits the incident to turn public opinion against Root and destabilize the village. 50

In response to espionage and attacks by other villages, Hiruzen orders a large-scale counterattack. Konoha's Anbu, intelligence forces, sealing teams, and elite jōnin raid enemy spies and outposts across several countries. 62

Beginning of the Third Shinobi World War

The disappearance of the Third Kazekage and Kumogakure's military preparations push Konoha into a state of alert. Hiruzen recalls major shinobi, strengthens the borders, and reduces nonessential high-rank missions. 99 101
