Background / History

The Uchiha begin as a major Konoha clan facing open distrust from villagers and increasing pressure from the village leadership. The clan is ordered to relocate from its ancestral grounds near the Naka Riverbank, while promised relocation funds are delayed and ultimately canceled, deepening resentment toward Konoha. 1 14 28

Under Fugaku, the clan initially remains divided between hardliners led by Elder Liehuo and more moderate members such as Yashiro. Clan meetings are organized by strength, with elders and powerful ninja holding the greatest speaking authority. 15

Yu’s intervention changes the balance within the clan. After demonstrating strength against Liehuo, healing him, and organizing compensation demands against Konoha, Yu earns broad support among the younger generation and establishes himself as Young Clan Head. 15 16

The clan completes its relocation and develops independent sources of wealth through businesses, medicinal production, herb cultivation, and stricter administration of the Military Police Force. Its officers gain greater respect from civilians through consistent enforcement of written law, while the clan becomes increasingly socially separate from the village. 44 46

Fugaku formally yields the positions of Clan Head and Military Police Force chief to Yu. Yu’s succession is secured by a bloc of Three Tomoe and Mangekyō Sharingan users, suppressing opposition from elders such as Beidou. 57 58 61
