Demons filled the sky, screaming and clamoring without end.
Though it was already noon, the sky grew increasingly dim, as if dusk had fallen.
The scene truly resembled a living hell.
Yet Gilan did not spare the demon scum surrounding him so much as a glance. Instead, he fixed his eyes on the enormous vortex suspended in midair.
The vortex was at least twenty meters across, as tall as a seven- or eight-story building. Hovering in the air, it shimmered with a translucent blend of green and purple, dreamlike and unreal.
New demons constantly emerged from it in droves, laughing, dancing, and waving their limbs.
That must be the Dream Gate!
Gilan thought.
Only by destroying it can I stop all this!
But just then, the hundreds upon thousands of demons in the air flapped their bat wings and voluntarily cleared a space, their faces filled with awe and even fawning ingratiation.
Three richly dressed men and women rose into the air, huge bat wings sprouting from their backs, surrounded by countless demons.
The three consisted of two men and one woman. Their expressions were cold, but their eyes were entirely black. They were clearly possessed by demons.
"The three chiefs of the Eclipse Society?"
Gilan tugged the reins, prompting the Ferocious Ram to pace forward.
Its hooves scraped across the ground with crisp clacking sounds, leaving behind a trail of green-flame hoofprints.
"Gilan Iros—"
The noblewoman in the middle spoke, her voice layered with echoes as it reverberated across the area.
"We know you, you damned heretic. You were the one who ruined the plans of our lord's angel, and you were also the one who killed our companion, Dog Earl!"
"So what?"
Beneath his crown, Gilan bared a vicious grin.
"Not just Schnauzer—you three will die today too!"
