With a light push off Loki's neck, Liszt soared into the air and landed atop the Skyship's gunwale. Following the route Kosto indicated, he clearly saw what the Skyship's keel looked like.
It truly was an entire branch.
Starting from the bow, the branch had no ram. Instead, it split into two offshoots that extended down along either side of the hull, forming three parallel lines together with the main trunk. These three parallel lines formed the main keel and two auxiliary keels on either side, together making up the ship's primary load-bearing structure.
From atop the three keels, countless more branches extended outward on both sides, forming the ribs.
In other words, the core framework of this Skyship was made from a single branch. It was simply an extraordinarily regular, symmetrical branch, as though it had been cast in a mold. The other structures had been continuously pieced together around this trunk. Even on close inspection, many components could still be seen to be whole branches themselves, just like the keel.
This was a Skyship that had "grown" from all manner of branches.
"Truly incredible," Liszt could not help marveling. "This kind of technology has absolutely surpassed this age. No noble in our country possesses it."
"My lord, our country's shipbuilding industry is the most advanced. If even we cannot build such a great ship, then I think... only the Moon Empire could have been capable of building one." Marcus, who had climbed up after him, gave his analysis with great certainty. "This ship may have lain on the seabed for thousands of years!"
The Moon Empire was a fine scapegoat.
Anything incomprehensible or unexplainable could be pinned on the Moon
