"Special-category magic?"
Liszt looked at the mission reward and the Sun Script books mentioned in the mission, sinking into thought. "Earlier, among the Sun Script books, I found some titles like XXX Transforms into XX Bear X. Based on my deduction, they should be Druid Transforms into XX Bear X."
Druids were a profession recorded by Curtis Truth in his surviving notes, ranked alongside magicians, liches, alchemists, and the like.
Liszt did not really know what Druids represented.
But the mission reward was very likely related to the Druid profession, which was more or less the spellcasters among the Children of the Sun—similar to magicians among humans.
"What does the Smoke mission mean? It wants me to read every Sun Script book, then archaeologically verify the meaning of every single Sun Script character?"
He frowned deeply.
Back when he had no books to read, he could flip through even the dry and tedious Philip Sun Descendant's Diary over and over, becoming proficient in reading and writing the Sun Script it taught.
But as his affairs gradually grew busier and his collection of books increased, he had long since lost interest in those dry, tedious Sun Script books. Much less burying his head in them like some old scholar, painstakingly verifying the meaning of every Sun Script character one by one—this work was simply too difficult.
"But if I don't complete it, it seems I can't skip this mission at all."
When he had encountered missions he did not want to complete before, he could obtain the reward in advance and thereby alter the mission. But this mission's reward was directly tied to its content; there was no way to skip it.
It was
