The upright Liszt was patiently listening to the sea siren Ake's thoughts after reading his book, <Speculations on the Correlation Between Magic Net Nodes, Sprites, and Dragons>. He had often discussed his conjectures about the magic net with Ake, so as soon as she finished this theoretical work, she was able to offer feedback.
"Brother, Ake thinks the magic net is not a 'net.' It should be a kind of 'field.' Though it really is like what Brother described, like a spiderweb creating node after node."
"A field?"
Liszt was somewhat puzzled. He had indeed told Ake about electromagnetic fields, because compasses existed in this world as well. When explaining why a compass pointed south, he had used the concept of Earth's magnetic field. He had then gone on to explain electromagnetic fields, matters such as magnetism generating electricity and electromagnetic induction.
He had not expected Ake not only to remember fields, but to apply them to the concept of the magic net.
She continued, "Brother said that when an object moves within a magnetic field, it can cut through magnetic field lines and generate an electric current."
"Yes, I did say that," Liszt replied somewhat vaguely.
In truth, he had graduated too many years ago and had not touched a physics textbook since. Many physical concepts had already grown hazy in his mind, and he did not know whether what he had said was actually correct. If it had not been to inspire Ake's understanding of truth, he truly would have been embarrassed to parade his half-bowl of knowledge.
If he had remembered the concepts wrong, he would make a laughingstock of himself.
"So Ake thinks the magic net is a field blanketing our world. Casting spells is using magic arrays to 'cut magnetic field lines,' while magic is
