Background / History
Uchiha Madara's departure from Konoha left lingering resentment within the clan. By Konoha Year 6, disagreement over compulsory enrollment in the newly founded Ninja Academy split the Uchiha between Uchiha Chirori's moderate faction and Uchiha Bin's radicals. Chirori argued that, having chosen to remain in Konoha, the clan should support village policy; Bin viewed the academy as a Senju attempt to weaken Uchiha independence. 11
The dispute escalated at Naka Shrine when Bin led thirty clansmen in an attempted defection against Chirori's fifty supporters. Chirori activated her Mangekyou Sharingan and defeated the defectors, including those using Izanagi, forcing them to accept that their path was wrong. Five Uchiha died in the conflict, while Bin's younger sister, Uchiha Yan, escaped and was reported as a rogue ninja. 12 13
Hashirama allowed the Uchiha to handle Yan's defection as an internal clan matter. He also appointed Chirori as Principal of the Ninja Academy, where thirty-three Uchiha children were prepared to enroll. 14 Over the following year, the clan came to accept that the academy was not a Senju conspiracy; its children received effective instruction, and the earlier bloodshed came to be viewed as meaningless. Chirori subsequently became the official clan head. 31

Bloodline Abilities
Sharingan
The Sharingan is the clan's defining ocular bloodline. Its users can develop enhanced dynamic vision and aptitude for genjutsu; these advantages also strengthen hand-eye-dependent combat styles such as shurikenjutsu, swordsmanship, and taijutsu. 30
- Uchiha Yan advanced from two tomoe to the Three-Tomoe Sharingan after intense emotional manipulation and training. 21
- Three-Tomoe Sharingan users can employ powerful genjutsu, though Yan avoided leaving genjutsu-related evidence while operating outside Konoha. 30
- Uchiha Kenji and Uchiha Sosuke had awakened the Sharingan by age ten. 40
Mangekyou Sharingan
Uchiha Chirori possesses a clover-shaped Mangekyou Sharingan, making her the strongest known Uchiha in Konoha after Madara and Izuna. 12
- Chirori's Mangekyou technique can force targets to recognize reality over illusion, defeating multiple Izanagi users simultaneously. 12 45
- Her Mangekyou-level Izanami can affect several targets at once; its cost is the worsening of her bloodline disease rather than permanent blindness. 45
- Chirori has kept her other Mangekyou ability undisclosed. 45
Izanagi
Izanagi is a high-level Uchiha genjutsu that sacrifices the vision of one Sharingan to nullify unfavorable events within a period of time and manifest a favorable outcome instead. 12
- Uchiha Bin and several defectors used Izanagi during the Naka Shrine confrontation. 12
- Chirori overpowered the technique with her Mangekyou ocular power, ending the attempted defection. 12
Bloodline Disease
Overuse of ocular techniques causes a chronic condition identified as a bloodline disease, in which special chakra use strains and damages the brain. 13
- Symptoms include blurred vision, impaired distance judgment, pupil tremors, dizziness, poor balance, and loss of coordination. 13
- Chirori's Mangekyou use caused severe symptoms following the Naka Shrine battle. 13
- Treatment and refraining from ocular techniques can alleviate the condition, though recovery may not restore the user fully. 13
- Chirori later mastered the Yin Seal, allowing her to store chakra and maintain her youth. 46
