Background / History

Ning Fengzhi is the Sect Master of the Seven Treasures Glazed Sect and the father of Ning Rongrong. Following Rongrong's awakening of the Seven Treasures Glazed Pagoda, he laments the martial soul's inherent limitation: its possessors cannot surpass level 79 despite their high talent and access to sect resources. 1

When Zhao Tian awakens the Radiant Phoenix with innate full soul power, Ning Fengzhi recognizes the child as an extraordinary opportunity for the sect. He confirms Zhao Tian's martial soul, celebrates the prospect it offers the sect, and later mediates Chen Xin and Gu Rong's dispute over taking Zhao Tian as a disciple. 1 2

Ning Fengzhi decides to bind Zhao Tian to the sect's future by making him Young Sect Master, taking him as a personal disciple, and arranging his betrothal to Ning Rongrong. Ning Fengzhi is refined and gentle in his dealings with Zhao Tian, but he can be firm and authoritative when the sect's interests or his decisions are challenged. He calms Chen Xin and Gu Rong during their dispute, yet warns a deacon to properly contain information about Zhao Tian's awakening. 1 2

He is strategically minded and politically cautious. He sends Zhao Tian to Spirit Hall's tournament not only for experience, but to demonstrate the sect's strength and observe Spirit Hall's intentions. As a father and master, Ning Fengzhi is protective without being wholly restrictive.
