Xiao Bai attends Xue Chen's awakening alongside Snow Emperor and Ice Emperor. He comforts Xue Chen beforehand, then reacts in shock when the Thunder Dragon Emperor's bloodline suppresses the Titan Snow Demon Bear bloodline within him. 1 He is equally astonished—and proud—when Xue Chen manifests the Radiant Thunder Dragon Spear as a second martial soul. 2

Heavenly Tribulation Incident

When a Thunder Dragon attacks the Ice Crystal Palace, Xiao Bai confronts it directly and protects Xue Chen behind his body. He becomes increasingly frantic when the tribulation energy abandons its attack and instead converges upon Xue Chen, resisting his attempts to drive it away. 5 He later witnesses Xue Chen absorb heavenly-tribulation power and is left stunned by the phenomenon. 6 7

First Soul Ring Hunt and Avalanche

Xiao Bai carries Xue Chen through the Far North to hunt the Thunder Wing Dragon Lizard. Using a controlled roar, he incapacitates the beast for Xue Chen's first soul ring, but warns that its approximately three-thousand-year cultivation greatly exceeds an ordinary first ring's limit. 13 After Xue Chen succeeds, Xiao Bai transforms to shield him from a massive avalanche. 14

Separated during the disaster, Xiao Bai uses Demon Bear's Fury to stop the avalanche and searches desperately for Xue Chen after discovering he has fallen into an ice crevasse. 15

Return from the Profound Ice Cave

Xiao Bai finds Xue Chen after his return from the Ten-Thousand-Year Profound Ice Cave. His immediate joy at seeing Xue Chen safely contrasts with Sky Dream Ice Worm's panic upon recognizing the Titan Snow Demon King. 23

Conflict with Red King

When Red King demands Xue Chen be handed over, Xiao Bai refuses without hesitation and declares that Red King will have to step over his body first. 24 He orders Xue Chen and Sky Dream to flee to the Ice Crystal Palace, then exploits the Far North's terrain, his extreme cold, and his domain to hold Red King at bay. 25

Xiao Bai survives the confrontation without serious injury and later joins Snow Emperor and Ice Emperor in receiving Red King at the Ice Crystal Palace. 28
