The two watched quietly as Wu De spoke.
"Could these murals depict the life of the tomb's owner?"
"It's certainly possible," Li Qing said.
"It's all useless effort. The strange things can never be completely killed off," Wu De said in a somewhat sorrowful tone.
The two continued onward. The corridor was not long, only a dozen or so zhang, but it sloped deep underground in a winding passage.
Before long, they arrived at an enormous burial chamber, an underground palace spanning at least ten zhang in both length and width.
The chamber contained an exquisite garden, and within the garden stood a magnificent residence.
Most eye-catching of all, every plant in the garden had been carved from jade of every color.
At the top of the burial chamber, two zhang above the ground, countless Night-Bright Pearls had been set into the ceiling.
Their placement resembled a sky full of stars, each radiating a different glow.
All the lights intertwined, bathing the entire burial chamber in a silver radiance.
It was the sight of a nighttime sky, with no trace of sun or moon—only a myriad of stars.
As their gazes swept over the jade garden surrounding the residence, surprise appeared in both their eyes.
Wu De said, "This tomb owner really knew how to enjoy himself."
"So many carved plants, all made from top-grade jade."
"Black jade, ink jade, yellow jade, white jade, green jade, blood jade, and more—there's quite a lot of nearly every kind!"
"That residence also seems to have been assembled from fine jade."
"It would probably take hollowing out several great mineral veins to gather all this."
Wu De was utterly astonished, clicking his tongue in wonder.
Looking at the jade strewn everywhere and the resplendent buildings, Li Qing could not help but praise them
