Background
Su Ming grew up among the Wu Mountain Tribe despite lacking the Barbarian Body required to worship its Barbarian Statue and practice Barbarian Cultivation. Frail in appearance, he supported himself by gathering medicinal herbs on Green Mountain and Wulong Mountain, hoping to become a Barbarian Warrior rather than an ordinary tribal healer. Grandpa’s medicinal care and years of Black Dragon Saliva nourishment made him far more agile and resilient than his build suggested. 6 7 8
His second Barbarian Awakening fails, confirming that he cannot gain a Barbarian Body through the tribe’s normal ritual. Soon afterward, a warm black fragment worn at his chest grants him a cultivation method for the Blood Condensation Realm, allowing him to begin condensing Barbarian Blood in secret. 8 10
The fragment also transports Su Ming to a mysterious place containing stone doors and refining knowledge. Through it, he learns Powder Refining and obtains Medicine Stone recipes, turning Black Flame Peak’s Fire Lava Cave into a hidden cultivation and refinement site. 12 14 23
Appearance
Su Ming is initially a delicate-featured, slender youth whose body is described as frail. His sustained cultivation and medicinal refinement gradually make his body sturdier and more powerful. 6 11
- Wears animal-hide clothing. 6
- Keeps messy hair tied with a grass cord. 6
- Wears a necklace of white crescent beast bones. 6
- Carries a woven herb basket while gathering medicinal plants. 6
- His blood lines shine vivid red across his body during cultivation. 39
- Blood Fire Stacking leaves his eyes bloodshot and briefly fills his pupils with the shadow of a blood moon. 41 42
Personality
Su Ming is persistent to the point of risking injury. His inability to awaken normally does not lessen his desire to cultivate; instead, he repeatedly experiments, refines Medicine Stones through failure, and forces breakthroughs when those close to him are threatened. 11 14 17 39
He is cautious and observant when dealing with danger. At the Tribal Market, he disguises himself and intimidates the One-Eyed Man rather than relying on raw strength; against Sikong, he analyzes the spear’s danger and waits for moonlight before counterattacking. 28 29 45
Despite his growing ruthlessness toward enemies, Su Ming is deeply loyal to his companions. He regards Xiao Hong as family, protects Lei Chen, saves Bai Ling without hesitation, and remains devoted to Grandpa and the Wu Mountain Tribe. 17 35 37 39
Abilities & Skills

Su Ming tempers and condenses Barbarian Blood into visible blood lines, gaining physical strength, speed, resilience, and access to Barbarian Arts.

Powder Refining
Su Ming learned Powder Refining from memories bestowed by the black fragment. He uses a self-made stone furnace and the earthfire of Black Flame Peak to refine spherical Medicine Stones. 12 14
- Dust-Clearing Powder — Amplifies the inherent effects of substances consumed with it; Su Ming pairs it with medicinal juices, Black Dragon Saliva, Sky Rock Grass, and Mountain Spirit Powder. 16 30 39

- Requires a fresh wild-beast corpse. 16
- Su Ming uses it after killing a Diao Li, temporarily increasing his speed during the pursuit of Xiao Hong’s captors. 17
- Its enhancement fades after a limited time. 17
Fire Barbarian Art
Through inscriptions associated with the Fire Barbarians, Su Ming discovers the Blood Fire Stacking method and the Fire Worship Technique. The art is tied to imagining the moon as red and drawing upon moonlight. 38 40
- Blood Fire Stacking — Involves burning the Barbarian Fire repeatedly; Su Ming’s early attempts cause intense pain, eye damage, tremors, and reactions from the Moon Wings. 42 43
- Moonlight manipulation — After reaching the fourth Blood Condensation level, he can draw and wield a sharp wisp of moonlight. 42 44
- The moonlight strike is more powerful than his full-strength physical blow against a boulder. 43
- Only Su Ming appears able to perceive the wisp of moonlight. 44
- He stops his third Blood Fire Stacking before completion because of the immense pressure it creates. 43
