Hayato read quietly for a while, his mind already made up. He had his own understanding of the training method for the Rasengan.
The path to mastering the Rasengan could be divided into three main stages: rotation, power, and maintenance.
However, Minato was currently in the preliminary conceptual stage. He had drawn inspiration from the Tailed Beast Bomb and wanted to stabilize chakra to push its shape transformation to the limit. Clearly, he had not yet delved deeply into the stages of rotation and maintenance.
"What do you think? Pretty impressive, right? In my vision, once this ninjutsu is completed, it will be a technique that requires no hand seals," Minato said, his face full of pride.
Hayato pondered to himself that for him, this was like an open-book exam; the answer was already right in front of him, and he only needed to follow the steps to put it into practice.
"Brother Minato, I have an idea," Hayato suddenly spoke up.
Hearing this, Minato raised an eyebrow and asked curiously, "Oh? Let's hear it."
However, Hayato did not immediately reveal his thoughts. Instead, he held his cup up in front of him and reached out to ask Minato for a chopstick.
Although a bit puzzled, Minato fetched a wooden chopstick from the kitchen and handed it to Hayato.
Hayato inserted the chopstick into the cup and began to stir the water clockwise, moving faster and faster until a small vortex formed.
Minato leaned in curiously, staring intently at Hayato's movements and the vortex created by the stirring.
"Brother Minato, look. If we can control chakra like this, making it rotate just like water, wouldn't we be able to maintain the chakra's energy more stably?" Hayato said while continuing to stir.
A flash of pleasant surprise crossed Minato's eyes at these words. He had been thinking about how to stabilize chakra, but he had never considered making it rotate like water.
"That makes sense! Hayato, you really are a genius!" Minato exclaimed, patting Hayato on the shoulder in excitement.
He immediately took out paper and a pen to record the idea, even drawing a spiral pattern with arrows on the page.
Hayato watched Minato's excitement with a faint smile.
He knew that even without his reminder, Minato would have thought of this method sooner or later.
But now, he could consider himself a participant in the development of the Rasengan, which would give him more confidence when using it in the future.
The two engaged in a deeper discussion about the Rasengan. Although Hayato knew how to train for it, the specific implementation plan still required further exploration.
Just then, Kushina walked over carrying three bowls of noodles.
"Let's eat first, we can talk after," Kushina said with a smile.
Hearing this, both Minato and Hayato set aside their excitement and nodded.
Hayato took a bowl of udon noodles, thanked her, and began to eat heartily. He had to admit, Kushina's cooking was truly excellent; the noodles were perfectly chewy, and the broth and seasonings were just right.
"Delicious!" Hayato couldn't help but praise.
Kushina felt very happy watching Hayato eat with such relish.
Before long, Hayato finished his bowl. Seeing this, Kushina stood up and asked, "There's more in the pot, shall I get you some more?"
"That would be a bother, Sister Kushina," Hayato replied with a smile.
Time passed quickly, and in the blink of an eye, it was time to say goodbye. Hayato checked the time, stood up, and said, "Sister Kushina, Brother Minato, thank you for your hospitality today. It's getting late, I should head off."
Minato looked up at the clock and realized it was indeed late. He stood up and said, "I'll walk you home."
"No need, I can go back on my own," Hayato said, waving his hand in refusal.
Seeing this, Minato did not insist.
"Then Hayato, will you be training at the same place tomorrow?" Minato asked.
Hayato nodded, "If nothing else comes up, I should be there."
"Alright, then I'll prepare the things and come find you tomorrow," Minato said.
After nodding once more, Hayato left Kushina's home.
Once Hayato was far away, Kushina turned to Minato and asked, "Minato, what were you talking about preparing?"
"Hehe, it's the tools for training. Hayato helped me out a lot today," Minato said with a smile.
Recalling Hayato's slightly youthful yet mature demeanor, Kushina couldn't help but sigh, "Hayato really is an exceptionally talented child."
"He is," Minato agreed from the side.
On the other side, after returning home, Hayato felt even more impatient to begin his training. The news he received from Minato today made him realize he had to improve his strength as quickly as possible. Furthermore, starting tomorrow, he had an additional training project—the Rasengan.
In the courtyard, Hayato began his daily taijutsu and strength training. He sweated profusely, practicing diligently, striving for perfection in every movement. He knew that only with a strong foundation in taijutsu could he better control his chakra and unleash the full power of the Rasengan.
The next morning, as the first rays of sunlight touched the earth, Hayato arrived at the lake as per his usual routine. Looking around, he found that Minato was already waiting for him.
"Morning, Hayato," Minato greeted with a smile.
"Good morning, Brother Minato," Hayato responded with a smile as well.
Minato immediately handed a water balloon to Hayato and said, "Let's start today by practicing how to control the water balloon."
Hayato didn't immediately start the Rasengan training; instead, he began his daily water-walking practice. His feet tapped the surface of the water lightly, moving with the grace of a dancer. He only stopped once he saw that the values on his system panel had ceased to increase.
[Ninjutsu: 150] [Taijutsu: 150] [Chakra Control: 150]
He knew that his chakra control had reached a new height, and he could now begin attempting to develop the Rasengan.
He walked over to Minato and saw the water balloon in Minato's right hand bulging in various places, but no matter how hard he tried, it wouldn't burst.
Minato wiped the sweat from his forehead and said, "It seems this isn't as simple as I imagined."
Hayato smiled upon hearing this and said, "We are developing an entirely new ninjutsu right now; how could it be that easy? Let's take it slow, one step at a time."
As he spoke, he shifted his focus to the water balloon in his right hand, attempting to use his own chakra to control it and make it rotate.
Beside him, Minato scratched his head, wondering if this whole scene had become a bit backwards.
Shouldn't he be the one comforting Hayato? How had things ended up the other way around?
Sometimes, he truly had the illusion that Hayato was more like a peer, or no, perhaps even a senior older than himself.
On the other side, Hayato tried many times without success.
However, Hayato did not lose heart; he knew that the path of cultivation was never smooth sailing.
Thus, he began to discuss and analyze the reasons for their failures with Minato, attempting different approaches.
They experimented time and again, failing time and again, but every failure brought them one step closer to success.
"Brother Minato, let's keep a record. Let's write down the direction and intensity of the chakra flow we used, then see if there are any patterns to follow," Hayato suggested.
Minato nodded at his words, and the two walked to the side to begin writing and sketching in a notebook, recording the data and results of every experiment.
"Let's try some new directions; perhaps we'll have some unexpected gains," Minato encouraged from the side.
And so, the two moved forward hand in hand, working together. They believed that as long as they persisted, they would surely succeed in developing this brand-new ninjutsu, the Rasengan.
