Chiba was born in Leaf Year 36 to low-level civilian Konoha ninja who died on a B-rank escort mission. Orphaned as an infant, he entered the Ninja Academy at six, graduated early in Leaf Year 46, and survived service in a Third Shinobi World War cannon-fodder battalion. His official record described him as a mediocre civilian Chunin with below-average academy grades. 1 7

At sixteen, Chiba recovered memories of a past life and learned that his Senju ancestry had been diluted rather than absent. A God-Tier Sign-In System purified that bloodline, causing an atavistic return that awakened Wood Style and a Basic Sage Body.
