History

Third Kazekage Incident and the Land of Wind Front

Sasori's defection and his use of the Third Kazekage as a Human Puppet become a major intelligence crisis for Sunagakure and Konoha. Yuhi Shinku's team returns to Konoha with this information, identifying the disappearance of the Third Kazekage as a likely catalyst for a broader war 37 39.

During the Land of Wind front of the Third Shinobi World War, Sunagakure commits Rasa, Pakura, Chiyo, and Ebizo to the battlefield. The village is described as having exhausted its reserves in an effort to hold against Konoha 73.
