Background / History

Karin was imprisoned by Grass Village ninja while her mother was exploited as a “human medical kit” on the battlefield. After her mother died from the strain, the Grass Village intended to send Karin to replace her. Hyuga Gen infiltrated the prison, incapacitated her escort, and escaped with her on Xiaojin. 47 49

Before dying, Karin's mother entrusted Gen with protecting Karin and revealed that she had hidden an Uzumaki sealing scroll for her daughter. Karin guided Gen to the ruins of her former home, where they recovered the scroll from an underground iron box. 49 50
