Background
Hongjun was originally one of the Chaos God-Devils. After Pangu shattered his Chaos God-Devil body, his divine soul escaped and was reborn through an incomplete Innate Earthworm body hidden beneath the West Buzhou Range. Because the body could not travel more than ten li from its place of origin, he was unable to flee when Xuanji came seeking him. 87
Before his emergence, Hongjun possessed the Qiankun Map and had lent it to Mang Jun through his connection with Yangmei. Xuanji stole the treasure and erased Hongjun’s divine-sense imprint, depriving Hongjun of one of his few important treasures and helping turn Hongjun and Yangmei against one another. 68
Hongjun later became the central figure of the Mystic Way. He sought to gather Pangu’s Three Pure Ones as disciples, viewing their immense fortune and cultivation potential as essential to his plans. Although they initially resisted, Grand Pure One eventually submitted to him as Taishang. He later accepted Jieyin and Zhun Ti as his second and third disciples. 125 129 147
Appearance
Hongjun appears in several forms, including an underground Innate Earthworm body, a six-colored light avatar, and a Daoist body formed through the Primordial One-Qi Divine Talisman. 87 88
- His light avatar appears as an elderly Daoist with a topknot, benevolent features, a green Daoist robe bearing a Yin Yang emblem, and a horsetail whisk. 87
- In his later Daoist appearance, he wears blue robes, a Daoist crown, carries an ancient sword on his back, and holds a whisk. 123
- His talisman-formed divine body radiates six-colored light and contains the Liangyi Dust-Mote Formation within itself. 88 89
Personality
Hongjun generally presents himself as calm, courteous, and detached, speaking with the manner of an orthodox Daoist even when issuing threats or preparing to kill an opponent. He carefully conceals his strength, treasures, and long-term intentions. 87 120
He is intensely ambitious and places great value on heavenly fortune, powerful disciples, and the Jade of Creation. His pursuit of the Three Pure Ones is driven not merely by teaching but by their connection to Pangu’s fortune. 124 125
Despite his composure, Hongjun is capable of deep resentment and fear. Xuanji’s repeated interference leaves him humiliated and determined to cultivate for revenge, while his defeat at Xuanji’s hands exposes his willingness to beg for survival when all other options are exhausted. 90 118 158
Abilities & Skills
Liangyi Dust-Mote Formation
Hongjun controls the innate Liangyi Dust-Mote Formation, a six-gated formation evolved from the Primordial One-Qi Divine Talisman. 87 88
- Contains the gates of Life, Death, Illusion, Annihilation, Obscurity, and Brightness. 88
- Draws in the Power of Heaven and Earth to strengthen its gates. 88
- Can evolve innumerable parallel void planes, allowing Hongjun to hide his Primordial Spirit avatar within them. 89
- Its effectiveness is limited when operated by an avatar rather than Hongjun’s true body; Xuanji disrupts it by exploiting its principles. 88
Primordial One-Qi Divine Talisman
A high-grade Innate Spiritual Treasure that serves as both the source of the Liangyi Dust-Mote Formation and Hongjun’s manifested divine body. 88
- Combines with Hongjun’s avatar to grant him a body comparable to a high-grade Innate Spiritual Treasure. 88 89
- Makes him exceptionally difficult to kill while his avatar remains concealed within the formation’s planes. 89
- Is heavily damaged when Xuanji’s Yin Yang Creation Wheel destroys Hongjun’s avatar; Xuanji subsequently takes the shattered talisman. 91
Pangu’s Art
Hongjun develops a six-colored colossal axe based on his understanding of Pangu’s Art. 89
- The axe carries destructive Pangu Power and shakes much of the West Buzhou Range. 89
- Its full force is comparable to a mid-stage Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal’s strike. 91
- It is ultimately overwhelmed and dissipated by Xuanji’s Yin Yang Creation Wheel. 90 91
Chaos Void Seal
An ancient divine art used as Hongjun’s last defense against the aftermath of the Pangu Axe and Yin Yang Creation Wheel collision. 90
- Transforms Hongjun into a chaos-colored seal containing 129,600 black talismans. 90
- Temporarily withstands the destructive torrent directed at him. 90
- Cannot prevent his avatar from being worn away or the attack from reaching his true body through their aura connection. 90
Three Corpses Dao
Hongjun cultivates the Three Corpses Dao and severs his Evil Corpse, Daoist Xuanxuan. 123
- Allows Daoist Xuanxuan to fight alongside him as an independent combatant. 123
- Lets Hongjun overwhelm Luo Hou through coordinated attacks from two bodies. 123
- Raises Hongjun to the peak of the early Quasi-@@REF_ENTITY_12926360@@ stage. 123
Heavenly Dao Mystic Wheel
A nine-colored wheel containing profound heavenly principles and the phantom shadows of creation through the ages. 128
- Its rotation unleashes enough force to shatter stars and meteors in its path. 128
- Gives Hongjun the decisive advantage over Luo Hou during their battle in Starry Space. 128 129
- Later becomes associated with the Heavenly Dao’s control over Hongjun. 157 158
Thirty-Three Heavenly Kings
Using four Jade of Creation fragments, Hongjun manifests the Thirty-Three Heavenly Kings after being empowered by the Heavenly Dao. 158
- Each Heavenly King corresponds to one of the Thirty-Three Realms of Sagehood. 158
- The Heavenly Kings force Xuanji into a prolonged ascent through the Thirty-Three Heavens. 158
- Their strength declines after Jieyin and Zhun Ti ambush the Heavenly Dao. 158

First Battle with Xuanji
When Xuanji enters West Buzhou to kill him, Hongjun attempts to flee but is confined by the limitations of his incomplete Innate Earthworm body. He traps Xuanji in the Liangyi Dust-Mote Formation, then manifests the Primordial One-Qi Divine Body when the formation is broken. 87 88
