Footsteps came from the other end of the corridor.
"George, did you hear something?"
"Why don't we go take a look? Probably someone from Ravenclaw studying ancient books."
The footsteps drew closer. Wizet looked up and saw two familiar faces—the twins, Fred and George.
"Wizet?" Fred wore a teasing look. "It's only the first day, and you've already inherited Ravenclaw's fine tradition. You actually got up this early!"
"Doesn't feel like he got up willingly." George furrowed his brow in an exaggerated way. "Professor Trelawney must have gotten an itch to put on the most primitive form of divination..."
"I get it!" Fred nodded in perfect understanding. "Randomly select one first-year, then gain revelations of fate through a blood sacrifice."
Wizet did not know whether to laugh or cry. The twins' ability to spout nonsense was a little terrifying.
"Is this lady also a professor at Hogwarts? Why is she drinking so early in the morning, and saying a bunch of things that make no sense..."
"Professor Trelawney, in charge of Divination," George introduced. "I remember she's the great-great-granddaughter of some famous Seer. Honestly, I think she's more like a dark wizard."
"Exactly!" Fred agreed wholeheartedly. "She especially loves death prophecies... and she practically can't wait for them to come true."
"And those are death prophecies. If she really wants the prophecies fulfilled, she can only rely on evil dark magic curses!"
Thud!
Trelawney's eyes rolled back, and her whole body went limp as she collapsed. Her head struck the floor with a crisp sound.
The twins shook their heads, praising it as if they were enjoying heavenly music. "What a lovely sound."
It was Wizet's first time encountering such an odd professor, and he had absolutely no experience handling it.
Seeing that the twins seemed very familiar with this professor, he asked, "What should we do now?"
Fred stepped forward and half-squatted, pushing Trelawney. "Unconscious... As expected of Professor Trelawney. As a diviner, every step she takes can exceed my expectations."
He looked up at Wizet again. "What subject is your first class?"
"Potions Class."
"Then we'd better do it!" Fred placed Trelawney's hand over his shoulder and lifted her up in one smooth motion.
George walked forward with perfect tacit understanding and draped her other hand over his shoulder.
Fred said unhurriedly, "Your first class is with Professor Snape. Knowing the way to the school hospital can increase your odds of survival."
"Yes, remember this road of survival well!" George put on a stern face, his tone extremely solemn. "If Professor Snape says he's going to poison you, as soon as you notice something wrong, go to the school hospital at once!"
"Poison?" Wizet's eyelid twitched. "Is that part of Potions Class too?"
"No!" the twins shook their heads together. "That's part of Professor Snape's nasty hobby."
"In a sense, he's still very impressive." George savored the memory. "A lot of the inspiration for our prank props came from the poisons he's used on us."
"As long as he didn't poison us to death..." Fred gave George a look.
George understood at once and said, "The poison would turn into Gold Galleons in our pockets!"
Wizet's curiosity was piqued. "What do pranks have to do with poison?"
"You catch on fast!" Fred praised. "I can tell you're asking us with true sincerity."
"Wanting to get to the bottom of everything—that's what makes a Ravenclaw!" George agreed. "You don't know much about the magic world, so you definitely haven't come into contact with prank props."
"It's a sight you've never seen before! The collision of potions and creativity, the combination of magic and alchemy—that's what can give birth to the great category known as prank props!"
They had a very strong sense of conviction toward these so-called "prank props."
Before they set off, Wizet released Magic Eye and looked toward the tapestry not far away.
The tapestry was enchanted. The figures in the picture had all come alive, and a troll in a ballet skirt swung a wooden club, constantly attacking a scrawny wizard who was jumping all over the place.
There really was something strange about the wall opposite the tapestry. Dense ancient magical power gathered there, forming the outline of an arched doorway.
Wizet thought, Could this professor have come out from inside? The magic world really is amazing!
The school hospital was on the second floor of the castle. Before they even pushed open the door, a strong herbal smell rushed at them.
Madam Pomfrey was the manager of the school hospital. It was well-equipped, fully stocked with potions, and could handle most diseases as well as all kinds of magical injuries.
A stern voice rang out. "Trelawney! You got drunk first thing in the morning again!"
Wizet had just been about to knock when a tall, thin middle-aged woman walked out first. Her bearing was somewhat similar to Professor McGonagall's.
The middle-aged woman's clothes were very distinctive, resembling a medieval nun's habit in style. The skirt had many pockets, and all kinds of tools and potions could be faintly seen inside them.
"Thank you." The middle-aged woman's voice softened. "You helped carry her down again... School has only just started, and having a drunk lying in the middle of the corridor really looks awful!"
Fred walked to Wizet's side and nudged him with his elbow. "This is Madam Pomfrey."
Wizet nodded and carefully observed Madam Pomfrey's treatment process.
"Episkey!"
Madam Pomfrey waved her wand. Emerald-green light gathered on Trelawney's forehead, and the bruise caused by the impact instantly vanished.
Then she drew a test tube from her pocket, skillfully pried open Trelawney's mouth, and poured the potion straight into it.
Trelawney broke into violent coughs, spitting out mouthfuls of amber smoke laced with the smell of alcohol.
"Vanish!" Madam Pomfrey frowned deeply and waved her wand again. The foul amber mist instantly dispersed without a trace.
"Professor Trelawney, I hope you can show some restraint! For new students to see you in such a state is really too..."
"New students?" Trelawney was like a cat whose tail had been stepped on. She covered her face and vanished around the corridor corner at top speed.
"Cool!" Fred and George whistled. "If Professor Trelawney didn't become a diviner and became a Seeker instead, she'd definitely go far!"
Madam Pomfrey raised an eyebrow and looked at the twins. "You two as well! Why would you give a new student Baruffio's Brain Elixir? It has no side effects, but taking too much of it will make someone dependent on it!"
"Who are you talking about? Us?" George pointed at his own nose in confusion. "Madam Pomfrey, you know us. We don't have the money for that."
"Exactly!" Fred nodded in agreement. "At most, we can afford Rosemary. How many Galleons would Tree Monkey Frog Brain cost?"
Wizet also helped explain, "Madam Pomfrey, I didn't drink any potion. They even helped me bring Professor Trelawney here."
"Perhaps?" Madam Pomfrey bent down and studied Wizet carefully. "Does your head feel empty? If Baruffio's Brain Elixir is taken for a long time, that sort of thing happens very easily."
Wizet didn't want to expose the Guardian Meditation Method, so he could only stick to what he had just said. "I didn't take Baruffio's Brain Elixir. Maybe it's because I slept rather late last night?"
"Perhaps." Madam Pomfrey did not pursue it further. She took out a bottle of clear, purplish potion. "Just drink one drop. It can ease these symptoms."
Wizet asked curiously, "Madam Pomfrey, is this Lavender Tincture? When I was previewing the material this morning, I saw a similar description."
"Looks like you're a clever Ravenclaw." Madam Pomfrey nodded and waved her wand, drawing out a drop of Lavender Tincture.
"You still have class this morning. Taking this much will be enough to ease the symptoms without getting you drunk. Since you're a Ravenclaw student, go back at noon and find a crystal to empty your mind. You'll recover by the afternoon."
After leaving those words behind, she walked into the hospital wing without looking back.
"Madam Pomfrey really is amazing," Wizet said in admiration. He felt much better now.
Fred laughed. "Of course! It's just a pity Madam Pomfrey leaves the castle during the summer holidays. Otherwise, we could stay at school all year round!"
"That will not do!" Madam Pomfrey had gone and returned. "This is not your private clinic! Be careful when you study magic, and spare me some worry!"
"Yes, ma'am! Madam Pomfrey!" Fred and George raised their right hands in a salute. "We'll be sure to remember your words!"
