"Some danger?" Ron only seemed to realize it now, as though something had occurred to him. His tone carried a hint of probing. "Wizet, does the Fear Manifestation Charm count as Dark magic too?"

"I can only say that this magic is very ancient..." Wizet explained. "Ancient enough that the category of 'Dark magic' had not yet been distinguished on its own."

"By today's definition of 'Dark magic,' I believe the Fear Manifestation Charm... does indeed possess certain characteristics of Dark magic."

"Certain characteristics?" Ron swallowed instinctively. "If I learn the Fear Manifestation Charm... will I become a lunatic someday too?"

Wizet blinked, considering how best to explain it. Looking at Harry and Hermione, who had both grown tense as well, he thought of a fitting analogy.

"Harry, ever since you mastered the Patronus Charm and could summon a corporeal Patronus, have you felt any different?"

"Especially when facing difficult situations, perhaps you've felt it more deeply. Those are the... benefits the Patronus Charm brings you."

"When facing difficult situations?" Harry scratched his head and carefully considered Wizet's question.

"I don't know if this counts..." He recalled what had happened at the end of the previous school year and described how their group had reunited with Sirius Black, only to be surrounded by Dementors.

After listening to Harry's account, Wizet said, "Harry, can I understand it this way? When you cast the Patronus Charm, you can feel all those wonderful things continuously welling up inside you?"

Harry nodded repeatedly. "Yes! That was exactly how I felt then!"

"The Fear Manifestation Charm produces a similar effect," Wizet said. "But what the caster feels... is fear continuously surging forth from the soul, or rather, from the depths of the heart."
