The Evolution of the Levitation Charm

As Wizet waved his wand and traced the incantation for the Levitation Charm in the air, the little Thunderbird landed on his shoulder again and chirped softly.

He stroked the little Thunderbird's crest, then noticed the confusion on Harry and the others' faces. An idea came to him. "Harry, I need you to help me with an experiment..."

"Okay!" Harry agreed readily.

"Then stand beside me, please..." Wizet looked at Hermione and Ron. "You two wait where you are for now..."

All three of them trusted Wizet completely and raised no objections, simply nodding to show that they understood.

Wizet raised his wand, and a murky, soundproof magical energy field appeared, separating Wizet and Harry from Hermione and Ron.

"Jupiter, show Harry how it's done..." Wizet said gently to the little Thunderbird. "Lift that bookcase..."

Thunderbirds were closely related to phoenixes, and both possessed astonishing strength.

At Wizet's words, the little Thunderbird chirped happily and flew toward the double-sided bookcase he had indicated.

Wizet flicked his wand lightly, and a strap appeared atop the bookcase. The little Thunderbird hooked its claws around it and effortlessly lifted the bookcase.

The little Thunderbird flew several circles while carrying the bookcase before setting it down, then returned to Wizet's shoulder with an air of great pride.

"That was incredible... You're the best!" Wizet praised it generously.

As the little Thunderbird rubbed against him with its fluffy feathers, he turned to Harry and said, "Harry, you try it too. Use the Levitation Charm to lift the bookcase."

"Okay!" Harry nodded, drew his wand, and began the incantation. "Wingardium Leviosa!"

Though the bookcase shook while levitating and a few things fell out of it, he had nevertheless successfully cast the Levitation Charm and made the bookcase float.
