Although they had all cracked the Golden Egg's secret, "losing their wands" was simply the worst possible news for them.
For most wizards, a wand was a treasure they relied on for everything. And the second task was to take place at the bottom of a lake, an environment none of them excelled in.
"Remember!" Ludo Bagman said again. "The test of the second task has already begun from this very moment!"
Wizet raised an eyebrow, sensing a hidden meaning in Ludo Bagman's words.
Ludo Bagman continued, "If you need to cast any magic, you may do so now! We will give you one minute to use your wands."
He raised an arm and pointed toward the Ministry of Magic employees waiting in the tents. "After one minute, hand your wands over to them."
At Ludo Bagman's words, Draco visibly breathed a sigh of relief.
"Looks like we won't need Gillyweed after all!" He lazily waved his wand and cast a spell on himself. "Water-Separation Air-Combining Charm!"
Cedric and Harry made similar motions, casting Bubble-Head Charms on themselves.
Both Harry's and Draco's Bubble-Head Charms had improved. They looked as though they were wearing half a diving suit, with the "fishbowl" around their heads extending downward to enclose their chests as well.
Most of the Champions had thought of using Bubble-Head Charms on themselves to go underwater.
Amid a flurry of incantations, everyone had an upside-down "fishbowl" over their heads. The sight was spectacular, but also rather comical.
