Background / History
Turles first appears during the Saiyans’ assault on Earth. She saves the incapacitated Nappa from being left behind, only to execute him herself after judging him too weak to deserve a God Essence Fruit. She had supplied Nappa and Vegeta with the fruits responsible for their sudden power increases. 58 59
She battles Gou Kong after he elects to face her alone. Although her base power is lower than his fully unleashed 72,000, her speed, experience, and technique allow her to counter his attacks and inflict severe damage. When pressed, she plants a Divine Origin Tree Seed, devastating Earth to cultivate God Essence Fruits from the planet’s resources. 59 60 61
At the tree’s summit, Turles reveals a form she developed to access Great Ape power without becoming an actual Great Ape. The transformation raises her combat power to 530,000 and leaves Gou Kong almost helpless. He eventually overcomes her by consuming two God Essence Fruits, crippling her before Vegeta’s intervention prevents a killing blow. 63 64 69
Turles and Vegeta survive the battle and are recovered by the Frieza Force. They later travel to Namek, where Turles gradually shifts from enemy to ally: Gou Kong teaches her ki suppression, she helps repel the Ginyu Force, and she eliminates the remaining Ginyu Force members and King Cold’s Armored Squadron on her own. 80 89 98
Frieza’s theft of her God Essence Fruit and his hostility toward the Saiyans place Turles firmly against the Frieza Force. After Vegeta is killed, she awakens as a Super Saiyan and fights beside Son Goku to avenge him. 99 119
After Namek, Turles develops a relationship with Gou Kong. The two explore Earth together, marry, and have a daughter, Seliph. Despite giving birth only a month before the Androids’ arrival, Turles insists on joining the battle. 133 134
During the Cell conflict, Turles trains with Gou Kong and Seliph in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. When Cell attacks Seliph, Turles instinctively takes the blast herself; the wound through her heart kills her and triggers Seliph’s Super Saiyan 2 awakening. 156 157 175
Appearance
Turles is a petite Saiyan woman with a cold, striking appearance that contrasts sharply with her brutal fighting style. Her hair is described as long and dark—black during the Earth battle and dark green in later appearances—and she has emerald-green eyes. 59 98 141
- Healthy wheat-toned skin from years of combat training. 132
- Usually wears a Frieza Force combat suit, often paired with a short skirt. 60 66
- Has a Saiyan tail and considers a female Saiyan’s tail a private, sensitive area. 62 98
- Her Great Ape Power form greatly increases her muscle density and physical build. 63
- As a Super Saiyan, her hair becomes golden and her emerald eyes turn a clear jade green. 119
- Ties her hair into a high ponytail when taking a fight especially seriously. 141
Personality
Turles is initially ruthless, proud, and dismissive of weakness. She kills Nappa without hesitation, regarding him as useless once he can no longer fight, and openly mocks Gou Kong while holding a decisive advantage. 59 66
She is highly self-assured in her own ability and takes pride in being unique among Saiyans. Her refusal to use the ordinary Great Ape transformation is partly practical but also rooted in vanity: she considers the form unacceptable for someone she considers beautiful. 63
Despite her hostility toward Gou Kong early on, Turles becomes fiercely loyal once she accepts him as an ally and partner. She refuses to abandon him against King Cold, worries over his injuries, supports him through his fears before the Cell battle, and ultimately sacrifices herself for Seliph. 98 103 110 164 175
Away from combat, she is curious about Earth culture, enthusiastic about dates and fashion, and notably poor at domestic work—especially cooking. 132 133 156
