Background / History
Feng Bailong is the Wind Sword Sect's sect master and the father of Feng Yun. Meng Shu and Chao Tianxiang had previously arranged a childhood betrothal between Feng Yun and their granddaughter Meng Yiran, having respected Feng Bailong's bearing and considered him a “dragon among men.” 1
When Meng Yiran's family publicly came to end the engagement, Feng Bailong remained composed and allowed Feng Yun to answer for himself. After Feng Yun set a three-year duel agreement with Meng Yiran, Feng Bailong privately asked whether his son was confident, then accepted his answer without further pressure. 1
Following Feng Yun's rapid rise from innate rank-three soul power to rank ten, Feng Bailong became increasingly aware that his son had changed. He accepted Feng Yun's explanation that a mysterious master had trained him, though he could not determine how such a person could have entered the sect unnoticed. 9
Feng Bailong personally took Feng Yun into Soul Hunting Forest for his first soul ring. After examining his son's body and finding that his muscles, bones, meridians, circulation, and explosive strength exceeded those of ordinary children and many teenage soul masters, he agreed to seek a wind-attribute ring close to a thousand years old despite the danger. 10
After Feng Yun absorbed the Emerald Demon Bird ring and its evolution into a thousand-year ring, Feng Bailong recognized the danger of his son's unusual abilities and urged him to keep them secret. He later permitted Feng Yun to remain in the forest to cultivate, leaving him a signal flare in case of danger. 11 12
Three years later, Feng Bailong anxiously awaited Feng Yun's return for the sect tournament while enduring Feng Xiao's insinuations that his son had failed to appear. Feng Yun's eventual return and overwhelming victory over Feng Lie, Meng Yiran, and the sect's younger disciples brought him visible pride and relief. 24 25
Feng Bailong subsequently sent Feng Yun to Godwind Academy, believing its wind-oriented training system suited his martial soul. He personally presented Feng Yun to Dean Xu Changfeng, whose doubts ended when Feng Yun tested at Rank 27 Soul Power. 27
Personality
Feng Bailong is restrained and steady, maintaining the composure expected of a sect master even during public affronts and personal anxiety. When Feng Yun was absent at the sect tournament, he did not retaliate against Feng Xiao's provocations, though his worry for his son's safety was intense. 1 24
He is also pragmatic and protective. He plainly explained the risks of absorbing an over-limit soul ring, including crippling injury or death, but trusted Feng Yun after confirming the boy's exceptional physique and resolve. 10
Despite his reserved manner, Feng Bailong is deeply proud of Feng Yun and consistently supports his independence. He respects Feng Yun's choices, provides practical support for dangerous training, and expresses his emotions in brief, understated words. 7 12 25 27
