Background / History
The Green Phoenix Sword manifested from a cyan sword-shaped mark in Feng Yun's left palm after he injected soul power and newly cultivated wind-attributed Dou Qi into it. Yun Yun identified it as the sword she had formerly used, though neither knew why it had become Feng Yun's second martial soul. She also sensed that it was not the martial soul's complete form. Feng Yun named it the Green Phoenix Sword, comparing Yun Yun's refinement and nobility to a green phoenix. 4
Its emergence made Feng Yun a twin martial soul user: his wind martial soul and the Green Phoenix Sword can be used simultaneously without interference. Yun Yun considers the sword extraordinarily compatible with his wind attribute. 4
As Feng Yun's strength increased, Yun Yun's soul body became more solid. She later detected a faint pull between her soul and the Green Phoenix Sword, concluding that their connection—and her arrival in this world—was unlikely to be coincidental. 14 26

Abilities & Skills
Twin Martial Soul Compatibility
The sword can coexist with Feng Yun's wind martial soul, allowing him to wield the sword while simultaneously controlling wind-attributed power. 4
- A casual combined swing produced cyan sword-wind capable of cracking a cliff wall. 4
- Its early use was severely limited by Feng Yun's low soul-power reserves; the first demonstrated combined strike consumed over half of his soul power. 4
Wind-Attribute Amplification
The sword greatly amplifies wind-element attacks channeled through it, functioning more like a wind-element catalyst than a conventional melee weapon. 14
- Wind-element attacks released through it are directly doubled in power. 14
- This amplification stacks with Feng Yun's soul-skill passives, contributing to his ability to kill a four-thousand-year Mandala Snake as a two-ring Grand Soul Master. 13 14
- Feng Yun uses the amplification to cast wind blades at range, deliberately exploiting opponents' expectation that a sword wielder will fight only in melee. 14
- The amplified wind can be condensed into highly penetrative cutting edges when paired with Sharp Wind Condensation. 13 16 17
Swordsmanship and Wind-Blade Projection
The sword serves as Feng Yun's primary medium for sword techniques and ranged wind attacks. 13 18
- Gale Stab — Channels wind-attributed power into a concentrated, armor-piercing thrust; with Sharp Wind Condensation, it pierced the Mandala Snake's scales and later killed a fallen spirit master through his vine defenses. 13 17
- Wind Blade Barrage — Projects numerous condensed wind blades in formations including triangles, crisscrosses, and spirals. 17
- Wind Spirit Fractal Sword — Produces independent cyan sword-shaped afterimages; Feng Yun progressed from one unstable afterimage to seven coordinated Wind Swords over half a year. 23
- Can release wind blades even when Feng Yun is forbidden from using soul rings or soul skills. 18 20
Combat Feats
- Wounded and ultimately killed a four-thousand-year Mandala Snake using Sharp Wind Condensation, wind blades, and a maximum-power Gale Stab. 13
- Cut through the fallen spirit master's demon vines and delivered the killing thrust through his brow. 17
- Defeated Black Panther at the Heaven Dou Great Spirit Arena without spirit rings or spirit skills. 18
- Broke Yu Feng's Wing Blade and spirit-power shield before defeating him with the flat of the blade. 20
- With Flowing Wind Empowerment, cut through Yu Tianheng's lightning barrage and damaged his dragonized arm before defeating him. 22
- Defeated forty younger Wind Sword Sect opponents with one sword strike each, then defeated Meng Yiran in three strikes without using soul rings. 25
- Overwhelmed the Godwind Team's challengers with wind blades without releasing a soul ring. 28
Relationships
- Feng Yun — Wielder; the sword is his second martial soul and primary weapon. 4
- Yun Yun — Her former personal sword; its manifestation and incomplete state appear linked to her soul. 4 26
- Green Phoenix — Feng Yun's Great Spirit Arena alias derives from the sword's name. 18 19
Trivia
- The sword had no name while Yun Yun wielded it; Feng Yun named it after her. 4
- It is repeatedly described as an incomplete martial soul, but its missing component or complete form has not been identified. 4 14
- Feng Yun humorously calls it a “sword-shaped staff” because of its exceptional effectiveness as a wind-element amplifier. 14
