The disciples of the Blackstone Mountain Range were divided into three ranks, the lowest being ordinary outer disciples.

Most of these disciples were stowaways, or descendants born to stowaways within the Blackstone Mountain Range.

Those with passable aptitude could become ordinary outer disciples as long as they passed the Blackstone Mountain Range's successive trials.

Most ordinary outer disciples were below the Void Realm, with the Eternal Antiquity Realm making up the majority. Occasionally, some inner disciples who had reached the Void Realm but, for various reasons, had long failed to grasp high-level void laws would also be demoted to ordinary outer disciples.

Besides cultivating, ordinary outer disciples were responsible for handling all manner of miscellaneous affairs. A small number with relatively high cultivation would be selected to take part in managing the Blackstone Mountain Range.
