Background / History

Tang Hao traveled the continent with his elder brother Tang Xiao and Ah Yin. When Spirit Hall discovered Ah Yin after Tang Hao reached rank ninety, she sacrificed herself to enable his breakthrough to Title Douluo. Carrying the newborn Tang San, Tang Hao fought Qian Xunji and his men for three days and three nights before escaping with lasting injuries. 104

He later lived in Holy Soul Village with Tang San. Though Tang San had to cook for himself from age four while Tang Hao drank, Tang Hao reacted emotionally when he learned Tang San possessed Twin Martial Souls and instructed him to conceal the Clear Sky Hammer: “Use the hammer in your left hand to protect the grass in your right.” 2 98

Tang Hao used his influence to demand Holy Soul Village's work-study slot for Tang San, releasing an oppressive aura that nearly caused Old Jack to collapse. Old Jack ultimately arranged schooling opportunities for both Tang San and Xia Yuan instead. 2

Personality

Tang Hao is intensely protective of Tang San. He repeatedly intervenes when his son is threatened, from striking down Shi Nian for trapping Tang San in an illusion to detonating his own Soul Rings to stop Spirit Hall from pursuing Tang San after the tournament. 105 118

His protection is often forceful and uncompromising. He avoided meeting Tai Tan because doing so might expose Tang San's identity, attacked the Heaven Dou Imperial Palace to answer rumors surrounding the Clear Sky Sect, and killed Tai Tan while fleeing with Tang San. 95 98

Despite his anger toward Spirit Hall and others he believes have wronged his family, Tang Hao shows remorse when Tang Xiao risks his life to rescue him. He considers himself a sinner who does not deserve the Clear Sky Sect's help. 128

Conflict with Heaven Dou City

After Xia Yuan killed Tai Nuo, rumors blamed Tang Hao and tied the death to the Clear Sky Sect. Tang Hao rushed to Heaven Dou City to clear his name but chose not to meet Tai Tan, fearing Tang San would be exposed. 94 95

Instead, he attacked the Heaven Dou Imperial Palace and declared that the Clear Sky Sect and Clear Sky Douluo must not be insulted. Witness testimony from Heaven Dou Royal Academy's education committee helped cement his public guilt. 95

Flight with Tang San

Tang Hao intervened when Tai Tan attacked Tang San, then fled with his son after Tai Tan's death. The Heaven Dou Empire and Spirit Hall subsequently branded Tang Hao and Tang San as fallen Soul Masters. 98 99

He took Tang San toward the Blue Silver Forest for a further Martial Soul awakening and revealed that both Ah Yin and Xiao Wu were Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beasts in human form. 101 104

Soul Master Tournament Intervention

Tang Hao secretly watched Tang San's tournament match against Xia Yuan. When Xia Yuan's spear shattered Tang San's Clear Sky Hammer attack and threatened to kill him, Tang Hao appeared openly and used Ring Detonation to block the strike. 117 118

He detonated further Soul Rings to halt Spirit Hall's pursuit while Yu Xiaogang evacuated Tang San and several Shrek members. Five Worshippers eventually defeated him, and Qian Jun Douluo publicly stripped him of the Clear Sky Douluo title. 118 119
