Frieza ruled through the Frieza Force and treated the Saiyans as subordinates or slaves. He personally destroyed Planet Vegeta, making him the Saiyans' greatest enemy and driving Vegeta to seek revenge. 32 34

On Namek, Frieza sought the Dragon Balls to gain immortality. Lacking a Dragon Radar, his forces raided Namekian villages, slaughtering anyone who refused to surrender their Dragon Ball; Frieza had already collected five by the time Wu Fei's group arrived. 23 24
