"Are you really willing to let go of power?"
"What's there to be unwilling about?" Nakayama Hayao snorted coldly. "Eri's going to give birth in a few more months, and won't we have to help look after this second child too? That brat Kazuki gets lured off to the TV station by that old thing Nakagawa Jun every day now. If I don't free up some time, that grandson of mine will be changing his surname to Nakagawa."
At the mention of his in-law, Nakayama Hayao's competitive streak got the upper hand again.
"From now on, I'll just hold a nominal seat on the board and be a mascot. If Nakagawa Jun dares use the convenience of that shabby station chief title of his to pull any crooked tricks, I'll go to Setagaya every day and bring Kazuki back to Haneda."
After listening to this grand retirement plan, Nakayama Takuya couldn't hold back a laugh.
"Fine." Nakayama Takuya nodded in agreement. "A handover period of one or two years will be enough. I'll have the legal and HR departments work with you to prepare the relevant process documents. However, for major strategic decisions, you still have to keep watch at the board meetings."
"That depends on whether I have time." Nakayama Hayao stood up and tugged the hem of his loungewear flat. "Now, I'm going to the courtyard to check whether Kazuki's ball has smashed any of my potted plants."
The old man strode out of the study with light, brisk steps.
Nakayama Takuya remained seated where he was, looking at the empty doorway.
