Preparations Progress

Hisao Oguchi opened the second file box and took out a stack of project progress sheets.

"Over on Hideo Kojima's side, he submitted the E3 special demo for MGS2 just last week. He forcefully cut a stealth stage out of the game, deleted every part that might easily cause spoilers, and did the English localization extremely thoroughly. I tried it out; the level of completion is very high." Hisao Oguchi turned to the next page. "But he made one request. The demo area has to be equipped with Sony's Trinitron monitors. He says other brands' color reproduction rates don't meet his requirements."

"Give them to him." Nakayama Takuya waved a hand grandly. "As long as he doesn't burn the budget on unrelated things, the company can afford the cost of a few monitors."

"Next is the trailer lineup." Hisao Oguchi took out a list. "Phantasy Star IV, Toy Story, Yakuza, Pro Soccer World PSW, King of Fighters 3, Super Robot Wars Alpha, and Shinobi. These seven games have all prepared high-spec CG trailers. If there isn't enough real-time footage, we'll make it up with CG. The visual impact on the exhibition floor will definitely be enough."

Nakayama Takuya looked at the names on the list and nodded in satisfaction.

With this lineup, they could raise players' expectations to the brim.

"What about the Toy Story collaboration?"

"Bernard has cleared the relationships over in the United States." Hisao Oguchi took out a fax. "Pixar provided some rendered clips they're preparing to put into the movie, and Yuji Naka cut them into the game's trailer. Disney has also agreed to mention our game in passing through their own promotional channels."

"Drawing a white wolf with bare hands—Bernard did beautifully." Nakayama Takuya praised him. "What about Nagoshi's Yakuza?"
