By the time the account had been calculated to this point, everything was already very clear.

They were not betting on the future of cartridges.

They were using an old production line that was about to sit idle in exchange for a new market that was expanding.

Minimize sunk costs, maximize marginal returns.

The North American data he had brought had solved the question of "whether to build it." Nakayama Hayao's South American report had solved the question of "who to sell to after it was built." Nakayama Takuya's technical analysis and production-line relocation plan had solved the question of "where the money would come from."
