Exhibition Setup

Nakayama Takuya arrived just as Sega's convoy was filing into its designated area.

He walked over and asked the materials manager beside him, "Have all the materials been checked?"

The man opened his notebook, his finger sliding down the lines one by one. "Checked them once yesterday, and again just now. Everything's here."

Nakayama Takuya nodded and did not disturb their work any further.

On June 6, the construction crews officially entered the venue.

The sound of saws cutting wood, electric drills, and hammers had not stopped since morning; it was clear even from one exhibition area away.

The corridors were full of workers pushing carts back and forth. Every so often, someone would squeeze through sideways with an exhibition board in their arms, calling "excuse me" to everyone they passed. Whoever was called to would take one step aside, then go on with their own work. No one looked up.

Sega's assigned exhibition area was in Hall B, and its size ranked among the front tier of all exhibitors.

Hisao Oguchi had already come to survey the site the day before. Today, as soon as he entered, he led the construction crew straight to the core position, holding the drawings and checking them item by item with the construction manager. Occasionally, he pointed to some detail that did not match the design and demanded it be redone. He had little to say beyond that—anything he believed failed to match the original design's effect had to be changed.

Nakayama Takuya walked a full circuit around the exhibition area. After confirming there was nothing that needed his decision, he stuffed the walkie-talkie into his assistant's hands and headed out.
