He stood up, walked to the whiteboard, and picked up a marker to draw two boxes.

"If someone in our company is especially good at handling these external relations, able to get the biggest things done with the least money, then pinning him down in the Sales Department or the logistics department would be burying his talent."

Nakayama Takuya turned to look at Director Yoshikawa, who was seated slightly behind him to the side.

"Uncle Yoshikawa, hasn't your Public Relations Department been shouting that it's short on people? If there's someone below with that kind of long-sleeved, skillful-dancing talent, he can absolutely be transferred under you to specialize in dealing with politicians and third-party manufacturers."

Yoshikawa laughed aloud. "Takuya, you're trying to stuff people into my department in a roundabout way. But that said, if there really is someone who can straighten out relationships and spend money on the blade's edge, my Public Relations Department will welcome him with both hands raised."

"This is the core purpose behind my establishing the Audit Committee." Nakayama Takuya walked back to his seat. "I'm not afraid of spending money. I'm afraid of money being spent muddleheadedly. If public-relations expenses are incurred but the results fall short of expectations, we need clear records so we can review them.

Was it that we didn't spend enough? Was it that we didn't find the key person? Or was the PR method wrong? It could even be that the executor lined his own pockets?

He sat down again and swept his gaze over everyone at the long table.
