The Challenged (I)

The initial rankings had ended, and with them began the true battle for rankings in this edition of the Seven-Ring Holy Tower Rankings.

Quite a few Demon-Hunting Wizards were deeply dissatisfied with the initial rankings. They had not achieved the results they wanted, and could only blame the mission to hunt down the Shadow Red Gauze Cult for ending too hastily.

The registration fee for the Seven-Ring Holy Tower Rankings was fifty magic essences. No one was willing to waste those fifty magic essences for nothing.

In truth, beyond that reason, any Demon-Hunting Wizard who entered the top hundred of the Holy Tower Rankings could not only earn back their registration fee through the rewards issued, but more importantly, obtain a Demon-Hunting title.

The sole way to obtain a Demon-Hunting title was through the praise and recognition offered by challenger after challenger after their defeats on the Holy Tower Rankings. It would accompany a Demon-Hunting Wizard throughout their career, much like the names of the Wizards' Towers belonging to Stigmata Wizards.

Of course, not every Demon-Hunting Wizard in the top hundred of the Holy Tower Rankings would necessarily earn everyone's recognition and obtain a Demon-Hunting title. Yet the higher one ranked, the more distinctive one's sorcery, the easier it was to obtain one!

Yachenso, the Demon-Hunting Wizard initially ranked second in this edition of the Seven-Ring Holy Tower Rankings.

Yachenso only felt that time was passing far too slowly. The wait was agonizing. The two metal spheres in his left hand rolled endlessly against each other, producing constant "creak, creak" sounds of metal scraping together.

Demon-Hunting Wizards ranked below one hundred could challenge any of the top hundred Demon-Hunting Wizards once per year. Demon-Hunting Wizards in the top hundred could challenge the third-ranked Wizard once per year, or any other
