Struggle for Power

Over the years, Amlund and Isabelle's holdings within the Isha Family had grown larger and larger.

After Black Isotta Wizard Academy was renamed, many Arcane Wizards chose to leave the new academy. Among them were many wizards who joined the Blood Sail Alliance. Through the bond of being one of the Blood Sail Alliance's founders, Amlund had recruited several Arcane Wizards as trusted subordinates to work for him.

After so many years of striving within the Isha Family, Amlund had become an indispensable member of the family. He managed the Isha Family's businesses, and his feelings for Isabelle had not changed, as though the silent love of their wizard-apprentice days had only been yesterday.

"Green, it's truly wonderful that you could come this time."

Having only just settled into his seat, Amlund said this, and Green looked over in surprise.

"What happened?"

When Patriarch Isasaar had been present just now, Amlund had not said a word. Isabelle had been the one accompanying Green throughout. Such was the sorrow of a live-in son-in-law, though wizards did not care much about such things.

"It's a struggle for power!"

Amlund shook his head and sighed. "The patriarch has begun deliberately seeking a successor from among the family's wizards, and he's starting to relinquish a great deal of power. Although I've accumulated some strength over these years, that's only at the lower levels. As things stand now, I simply can't compete with those heirs."

As he spoke, Amlund looked at Green expectantly.
