Background

Lu Yu is Lu Jiaxuan's son and Lu Chen's younger brother. During the defense of Hulao Pass, he serves in the Lu Family Army and advocates a surprise attack against the North Wind Profound Kingdom's nearby cavalry camp. He leads 2,000 elite soldiers out through the west gate under Lu Chen's plan, with Lu Jiaxuan and Lu Chen holding reserves behind him 11 12 13.

He later fights beside his father and brother against North Wind's Iron Pagoda Cavalry. Lu Yu trusts Lu Chen's risky strategy to confront 30,000 heavy cavalry with the Lu Family Army's 8,000 soldiers, declaring that their side can endure even when facing an army of 100,000 17 18.

After the battle of Hulao Pass, four Great Snow Mountain monks ambush the Lu family. Lu Yu exposes his great-grandmaster cultivation, killing three grandmasters and then Chan Master Longshu, who had reached half-step great grandmaster 20.

He remains on Mount Zhongnan with his master Liu Jinchan and takes in seven disciples, including talented orphans from the chaotic era. Their rapid advancement earns them the name “Seven Disciples of Zhongnan,” while the Three Truths Sect becomes a major force in Great Qing's orthodox martial world 47 60.

In later years, Lu Yu joins Liu Jinchan and Lu Chen in seeking Peng Chuan's notes on the Heaven-Refining Art.
