The first sneak attack, combining Quantumization and teleportation, failed. Though Silver Surfer was somewhat lacking in energy control, his combat experience was still extensive. His extraordinary instincts and reaction speed saved his life.

That gave him quite a scare. This herald of Galactus had no choice but to take the pursuer behind him more seriously.

As Galactus's advance herald, active across the cosmos year-round, Silver Surfer naturally could not have been completely unaware of Earth's Ultraman. After all, this guy was fairly famous. He had caused quite a stir throughout the universe some time ago, and anyone who traveled among the stars regularly would have found it hard not to notice him.

After just the first exchange, Silver Surfer was certain that he was no match for this protector of Earth. But that was hardly unusual for a vanguard. If he could not win, he could just run. Most people could not catch him anyway. At worst, he could return, report the situation to his boss, then come back with more brothers next time to settle the score.

But this time, running away did not seem as smooth as he had imagined.

Silver Surfer was incredibly fast. The instant he broke free from the sneak attack, he accelerated again and widened the distance.

But that was fine. If it did not work once, he could try again.

Teleportation alone could not replace high-speed movement. Even if you held the Space Stone and could instantly travel from one end of the universe to the other, you still could not catch a target moving at light speed. Even if you appeared ahead on their path, you could not keep up with their speed.

But if you yourself possessed speed close to theirs, things would be different.
