"Are you serious?" Stark stared at the résumé in his hand, disbelief written all over his face.
"Dead serious." Old Pym folded his arms, his nostrils practically pointed at the ceiling. "It has to be him. Either you find a way to get this man out for me, or forget about the plan."
The résumé Old Pym had provided naturally belonged to Scott Lang, the protagonist of the Ant-Man film.
Pym said he was too old to wear the Ant-Man suit himself, that Pym Particles would have severe negative effects on his body, so he had to find a successor.
Stark could completely understand everything up to that point. But when he picked up the résumé of Pym's chosen successor... Good grief, what was all this? Breaking and entering? Grand larceny?
Stark simply could not understand why Old Pym insisted on this man. At least judging from his record, the guy was utterly ordinary. The biggest thing he had ever done in his life was steal money from his boss. These days, even as a criminal, that résumé was abysmal—there was nothing remotely noteworthy about it.
"Why him?" Stark asked. "S.H.I.E.L.D. has all kinds of talent. A master's degree is nothing. We have experts in every field, first-rate agents, and operational specialists..."
"Don't ask questions." Pym stubbornly folded his arms, wearing an expression that said, It's this kid or no one.
With no other choice, Stark did not press further and made several calls right there in his office.
Having the title of S.H.I.E.L.D. director made many things easy, and getting a prisoner out of jail was easier still. An hour after the calls were made, Mr. Scott Lang was trembling as several burly men in suits and sunglasses escorted him from a helicopter onto the Helicarrier.
