An hour after Richard and Galacta landed on Xandar, the Corps received an attack alert.
The Corps' radar detected an immensely powerful energy entity entering the region of space controlled by the Nova Corps. Communications with the Nova outposts stationed at the border had suddenly been completely cut off, with no further word from them.
Given the circumstances, it was not hard to guess that some god-level enemy—or enemies—had entered this region of space.
Upon receiving the report, Nova Prime immediately ordered all of Xandar to enter the highest state of alert without hesitation. She recalled every Nova who was currently available and nearby, arranging for them to prepare for the strongest possible defense.
Watching Xandar enter Level One alert as countless Novas and aircraft rose into the sky, Richard pondered for a moment before saying, "Perhaps we should leave."
Nova Prime, who stood beside him in the observation tower, turned her head. "No. You don't need to go anywhere. The Nova Corps' strength may not compare to yours, but we are not to be underestimated either. Even if our opponent is a god, we will not be afraid."
"That's not the issue." Richard shook his head. "I've never doubted the Corps' strength, and I'm grateful that you're willing to help. But this isn't your battle in the end. There's no need for you to..."
"Actually, there is." Nova Prime spoke earnestly. Richard saw an almost stubborn resolve in the eyes of the gray-haired woman.
"When Xandar faced a crisis before, you saved us. You and Galactus' daughter did it together. If you hadn't been there, neither the Novas nor Xandar would still exist today," Nova Prime said. "I know that many people in this universe only put themselves first, but I assure you, the Nova Corps is not like
