Final Thoughts

It was a bumpy road to the finish, but I still achieved the milestone of completing a novel over a million words long.

It was somewhat regrettable, really. I had picked up some bad habits from writing on other platforms. I could keep things under control in the early stages, but once the story reached the middle and later stages, I started losing control. But I planned to stay on Qidian, so I couldn't just write the beginning of a story. I had to persist in finishing one, build up experience for myself, and learn how to control the pacing in the middle.

It wasn't just about giving readers an explanation. It was also about honing my writing and correcting the pacing throughout the writing process. I couldn't focus only on the beginning; I needed to keep control of the middle and later parts as well.

With the experience from this book, I hope I can get the pacing right in the next one.

I never set up any oversized paid chapters for this book, because I felt the writing was only average and that I wasn't qualified to make everyone pay for it. The fact that people were willing to subscribe was already wonderful. Even if you skipped chapters, that was still tremendous support for me.
