The rolling mountain ranges were like slumbering beasts, the winding rivers like frozen ink. The entire land was utterly devoid of life.
Even when some strange Netherworld creatures occasionally entered his sight, their savage and bizarre appearances could not stir the slightest appreciation in Mo Chen.
Bored out of his mind, Mo Chen turned and strolled over to a Nether Blade Guard, breaking the oppressive silence.

This Nether Blade Guard was a vampire. His hair was as crimson as blood, his eyes gleamed red, and his lips were an unnaturally bewitching shade of scarlet.
Hearing Mo Chen's question, he immediately straightened up and replied respectfully, "Reporting to Inspector, this subordinate is named Powell."
Mo Chen nodded slightly and continued, "How much longer until we reach our destination?"
Powell looked up at the hills ahead and the blue moon hanging high in the sky. After a moment's thought, he answered, "Judging by the wyvern's current speed, it will take roughly another three months."
