The Calydonian Hunt [Second Update]

After the Argonaut expedition ended, what did Ye Ting do next?

Having spent a long time holed up at Mystra Academy, after completing the Argonaut expedition, he continued traveling all across Greece as a wandering mage, accompanied by the three girls Circe, Medea, and Atalanta.

Naturally, they went through many things along the way.

Among them was, of course, the hunt for the Calydonian Boar.

It all began when Oeneus, king of the city-state of Calydon, held a harvest festival to sacrifice to the gods but alone neglected to make an offering to Artemis.

Though the goddess was simple and innocent by nature, she was no pushover. In fact, unlike more mature gods who needed to maintain appearances, this childlike goddess was straightforward: what she liked, she liked; what she hated, she hated. She strove to obtain everything she liked—such as Ye Ting—and erase everything she hated.

Such a personality was cute, but it was also cruel to mortals.

This time, the goddess became angry like a child who had not received any candy. So she sent one of the most ferocious of all the divine beasts under her command, a huge and powerful mountain boar, to ravage the region around Calydon.

The boar was taller and more massive than an elephant. Its bloodshot eyes glowed with fire, its neck was covered in stiff bristles, each as sharp as the point of a spear. Every roar was like it spewed steaming foam, scalding its flanks red. Its tusks were as long as ivory, flashing when it opened its jaws and scorching the grasslands with every breath.

Faced with this terrifying boar, Calydon's prince Meleager, one of the surviving Argonauts, had no choice but to call on friends and gather warriors and heroes to hunt the divine beast.
