The door opened, and Ye Ting entered with Altera, but Michael remained at the entrance.
"My Lord has decreed that he wishes to meet the two honored guests alone, so I shall not enter."
Michael nodded to Ye Ting, took two steps back, and closed the door.
Only then did Ye Ting have the leisure to observe his surroundings.
It was an incomparably vast marble sanctuary, somewhat similar in style to the Gothic cathedrals Ye Ting had seen in his previous life, yet undoubtedly far more magnificent.
Ornate beams and painted rafters, all manner of exquisite reliefs—those were merely the basics. The entire sanctuary had clearly been built from the most precious materials, perhaps even treasures fit only for gods. Noble, elegant, holy... even exhausting such words could not describe the beauty of Christianity's divine temple.
Yet Ye Ting frowned slightly.
Because it was far too dim here.
Although Christianity's pantheon was entirely different from all other pantheons, possessing only one chief god—and that chief god held no specific divine portfolio, but was absolutely omnipotent—that did not mean this god had no preferences in power.

Meanwhile, darkness, evil, corruption, destruction, desire, chaos... such powers were disliked by Yahweh. Though as an omnipotent god, he could wield them as well, he would basically never truly employ the powers of those domains before others.
For gods, the powers they governed and favored would usually manifest within their temples and residences.
Simply put, gods of agriculture and earth were fond of fertile fields; gods of plants and hunting preferred living in forests; gods of flame and forging kept company with lava; gods of sky and Thunderbolt would never enjoy living in underground caverns...
